Thanks for the wishes and nice words Mr.Ogre.
Wind blast is no more a negative to me. I am able to do speeds as per road and traffic conditions allows

I know a person who has got a puig windscreen on the RS. So, it’s definitely doable.

Street triple R is very comfortable on long trips. It’s just about getting used to. I remember during my earlier days, a ride 50 kms long use to irritate due to hard seat(or I thought it was). However, seat base is perfectly cushy, long and wide so we can adjust while riding and gives good support. I definitely ‘not’ regret not getting a windscreen.

Happy hunting. You have good options to choose from.

Odometer- 7500 kms up!

My Street Triple completed 7500 kms on the odometer today. Not able to ride much in last month.
Bike is due for annual service next month and I plan to get it done before Diwali. Hoping to complete 8k before giving for service.

Some clicks from nearby rides.

Lovely photos ! How is the condition of the Tamhini ghat road ? Been wanting to try that route for some time now but when I went that side a few years back the roads were absolutely horrible.

I tried this route in January this year and returned after covering just few kms past Pirangut. Roads were that bad!
However, there is lots of improvement now between the pirangut and Mulshi dam section. Definitely doable during non- monsoon season. Between Mulshi dam and Orchard cafe , there are couple of bad sections due to latest monsoon.

Still, this route will bring a smile even in its current condition. I did this for this first time on my street triple last month and felt it’s much better than visiting Panchgani for a morning ride.

Apologies I am late to the party abhi_tjet, congratulations on the bike.
It is heartening to see the bike being used the way it was intended to be rather than be a garage queen.

How are the tires holding up, they must be approaching their end of life now.
Just out of curiosity, what is the RPM like at 100 km/h in 6th gear?

Have fun!

Thanks for the wishes, Hiren. After spending more than a million, the least we can do is to use it as intended. However, that odo shot is old now and I am gunning for 10k in this week.

Tires are holding pretty good and will definitely last till 12-14k kms.
Rev counter is around 6k in top gear for 100 kmph speed.

re: My 2020 Triumph Street Triple R BS6 Review. EDIT: 2 years & 17000 km up

10k kms update

I have completed 10K kms on my Street Triple. A wonderful experience till now with bike as well as dealership.

Positives
- An absolute hooligan. The in-line 3 is one smooth sailor and a joy to pull in any gear.
- Very easy to ride. It is a good beginner big bike with all those electronics to save rider in case of some mis-happening.
- The riding modes are for real. Clear distinction between them and suitable for various scenarios.
- Brakes are a delight which can bring bike to safe speed/ halt from any speed without any drama.
- Tyre performance is splendid in dry conditions. However, wet performance is just adequate.
- Apart from chain maintenance, periodic service and regular fuel/air pressure check, no extra care needed. Fill it, forget it, shut it kind?
- Fuel economy is decent as per mid. It gives in excess of 20 kmpl if you are often in wrong side of speedometer. Riding a bit maturely will give you close 23-24kmpl.
- Saddle is very comfy for long rides( Rider only). PS- I did a 555km ride yesterday.
- Wind blast is not a concern for regular days. However, if it’s windy that day, it’s a completely different ball game.
- Range and fuel gauge is quite accurate. Pretty accurate I must say.
- Rear view mirrors are awesome and provide a good view irrespective of what speed one is doing.

Negatives
- Usable range for me is around 200-220 kms with DTE still showing 20-30 kms to go. That is approximately 250 kms in a tankful. A range of 300 kms would have been better. Though the tank capacity is 17L, it hardly takes more than 10-11 L of fuel before you risk it filling to the brim.
- Despite what people say, these big bikes aren’t comfortable to use in Indian city traffic conditions. One will tire easily trying to keep the bike in leash.
- I still miss an ambient temperature gauge.
- Spare parts, if not available, takes some time to arrive. It is a month or two at least.
- Service booking need to be done well in advance. Ad hoc service visits are entertained only if it’s something urgent. Service space is quite small here in Triumph Pune.

Some pictures from recent rides which helped in achieving the milestone. Latest odo reading is 10500 kms.

Congratulations on the 10k Abhi. It really is a fuss free bike if you take care of her well and do not abuse her. I know I will always really really miss my RS for the usability it offered. For the wind blast- i would highly recommend using the Triumph OE screen. It made a world of difference for me and you would only enjoy the rides more.

Please keep sharing more pics from the ride. I miss Pune terribly and places around Pune on a big bike are just pure love!

Ride Safe!

Congratulations! Brilliant bike. Do try and set the suspension up for your particular weight and the kind of riding you do. If set up correct, every ride will be much more enjoyable and the limit of how much you can push will increase manifolds.

I always thought that, if I would ever venture into this price range for a middle weight, I would either go for a CBR650 or Z900, I'm a sucker for that inline 4 note, then one day it happened- I was waiting at a traffic signal and a guy in red Street tripple sporting Akrapovic parked next to me, we had a little chat and off we went, some 10 kilometres later when I entered the New Raipur area, I again spotted that red beauty and the way she was tearing up the roads just got me there, after returning home I fired up TeamBHP and stumbled upon your Triumph.

I'm proud to admit that Street tripple R specially in this Sapphire Black shade is my new crush.
