BMW R nineT and R nineT Scrambler launched in India
BMW Motorrad has launched the R nineT and R nineT Scrambler in India. The bikes will be imported as completely built units (CBU) and are priced at Rs. 18.50 lakh and Rs. 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The R nineT is a classic roadster featuring a circular LED headlamp and a twin-pod instrument cluster. The bike rides on spoke wheels and is equipped with a twin-can exhaust.
The R nineT Scrambler also gets a twin-can exhaust that is positioned just under the seat. The bike features telescopic suspension with rubber gaiters at the front and rides on 5-spoke alloy wheels that are shod with knobbly tyres. It has a circular headlamp and a single-pod instrument cluster.
The R nineT and R nineT Scrambler are powered by a 1,170cc, air-cooled, 2-cylinder boxer engine. The unit produces 108 BHP @ 7,520 rpm and 119 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The motorcycles can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and have a top speed of 200 km/h.
Both bikes have two standard riding modes - Rain and Road. The brake setup consists of twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear. The bikes are equipped with ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and travel-dependent damping (WAD).

I've had a big crush on this machine (the R nineT and not the scrambler) for a longest time.
