Extremely competitive pricing to begin with especially if you compare it to the Honda CB500X launched here recently. Living with the TRK - costs for servicing, spares etc could be on the higher side though.

I believe the curb weight of the TRK is 235 kgs (not mentioned in the brochure) which could be a fly in the ointment compared to something like the Honda CB500X which is 199 kgs.

Let’s see if it strikes a chord in the market due to the pricing.

Cheers

Benelli must be banking heavily on this ever since they lost the race in the Imperiale market due to the relatively higher pricing. This looks VFM especially compared to the recently launched Honda CB500X. Aggressive looks as well. Wonder if it has the magical exhaust note of the erstwhile 600

The TRK 502X is powered by a 499cc, parallel-twin engine that puts out 46.8 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 46 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission.

At 240 KGs and those power and torque figures it's a wonder who would take this anvil offroad.

I wonder how Benelli manages to make a 500cc bike this heavy in an age where 1100cc Africa Twins are 220kgs and 900cc Tigers are 200kgs.

I guess you get what you pay for. But The 390 Adv will walk circles around this both on the roads and definitely off them.

i feel this bike will be well planted on high speeds much more than the other bikes I say, creates a comfortable ride this way

Re: Benelli TRK502X BS VI launched at 5.19 lakhs

Experienced with owning a Benelli TnT 300i, allow me to share some pointer about Benelli.

a. Their engines not just sound wonderful, but they run beautifully as well.
b. Benelli's are heavier comparatively which keeps it sturdy and planted on high speeds and open roads. Also when there are cross winds, these bikes are fairly planted at triple digit speeds.
c. With lesser power, these are not exactly racing machines. However you should definitely be able to enjoy them on an open road.
d. They are (atleast when I owned one) expensive to maintain, spares and service costs are above average.
e. Spares are not easily available.
f. Many of the smaller and less significant parts are made of below average quality.

About the TRK...
Yes, the duke will run rounds around a TRK.
No, TRK is not the one which atleast I would be comfortable going offroad with - given the weight.

In my opinion, TRK seems to be more of a GT bike, a long distance tourer. A soft-roader which can easily take you over some really bad roads over long distances comfortably.
