TVS had acquired British bike maker Norton Motorcycles back in April 2020. Now, it has been reported that the company is likely to introduce the brand in India. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding this development.

It is said that Norton has trademarks for the Norton Commando, Norton Atlas, Norton Manx and Norton Fastback in India. The company builds bikes with engine capacities ranging from 600cc to 1,200cc.

This won't be the first time that Norton bikes will be sold in India. The brand had earlier partnered with Kinetic Group's Motoroyale to offer bikes like the Dominator and Commando.

This will be interesting.

Zigwheels has estimated the price of the Norton 500 at an absurdly low price of INR 2.5 Lakhs.

My guess is TVS may launch it at 4.99Lakhs as ex-showroom price. This is assuming it is a parallel twin engine.

With TVS's vast network, they can repeat the success of KTM with Bajaj.

Norton - TVS is going to be a serious threat to Triumph. Unless Triumph-Bajaj partnership kicks in as per plan. Frankly, Triumph's India plan so far has been so atrocious. Could have been so much stronger as a brand! Hopefully TVS has made notes!
