Those are not fake Ram Air scoops they work.

I've read this lil phrase long time back in a British mag:

"If the R1 is like a scalpel in the hands of a cardiac surgeon the V-Max is like a blunt knife in the hands of a street thug"

This is to describe the handling characteristics of the vmax and how the chassis was unable to cope up with the power. The V-Max is my dream bike, wanna buy it someday!

I doubt it.. He would rather buy it from Keshav itself.. He has already bought the Conti and the Bullet.. Modded both.. Why leave the Vmax??

Updated - Latest rumours, NOT denied by Yamaha this time, give the following specs:

1800cc V4
210 bhp

Yeah you read it right. 210 bhp on two &(!@&)#@#) wheels! I'm jealous - ALREADY.

Start praying!

Now THAT is what I call a Motorcycle. Amazing looks, awesome power and undeniable street cred. Yamaha, can I have one in black please??

But seriously, I genuinely believe that this one is the perfect brand builder for Yamaha. A few of these on the street and people start talking. Downsides are people (riders) not being able to handle the power.....accidents and also uninformed people thinking that it's a "modified Enfield".

Update:

Yamaha insider says .... 'Asked about the progress of the Vmax I got a pretty interesting story. The Otodama engine - the 1800cc monster turns out to be just that: a monster. An early version of the engine made 295bhp (!) at the crank. After some troubles with the internal dynos and test setups the bike was tested with that engine configuration. Turns out there is pretty much no rear tire that can hold up against this much power. The engine shredded tires in piece, breaking loose at pretty much any point in time.'

They need tires to keep this thing on the ground.

I've driven a VMax 1200 and the torque this shaft-driven bike puts out just spins the rear wheels and makes U go sideways . Its like a muscle car.
Note that i used the term 'driven' instead of 'ridden' and its intentional.

Will have to wait and watch.

@Rtech: I have no idea.... I don't even know the owner personally! He is a friend's acquaintance. I think the history of the bike will have to be checked out? Do you personally know of a bike in pune that had a crash? 'Coz I don't know of any other VMax here in pune?
