Japan: Honda CBR400R & CB400X updated for MY2022

Honda has updated the CBR400R and CB400X bikes for MY2022 for the Japanese market.

The 2022 Honda CBR400R features a pair of higher-spec Showa SFF-BP forks at the front. Apart from that, another major update that Honda has incorporated here is the dual front brakes. The previous model used to come with a single disc brake at the front.

The 2022 Honda CB400X, too, witnesses suspension and brake updates. The latest iteration of the motorcycle is fitted with USD front forks instead of right-side-up units. The single front disc brake has been replaced by a twin-rotor setup.

Powering both these motorcycles is the same 399c, parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing 45 BHP and 38 Nm. For the transmission, there is a 6-speed gearbox. Honda is also providing a slipper and assist clutch.

In India, Honda launched the CB500X earlier this year. The motorcycle is available as a CKD unit. It is powered by a 471cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 46 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 43.2 Nm @ 6,500 rpm.
