Haha. In my defence - I wasn't expecting the Parfait to be so big!

Will need to plan the ice cream thali for another day.

Beautiful ride man. Truly admire your 'I travel for food' spirit! What stood out to me in your entire journal was the above portion. Salute to your friend Karthik to be doing any form of spirited riding with his mom and wife in the car. If I move my right leg muscles even slightly forcefully I get a slap and a death stare.

Why don't they like bikers? Is such "Biker Apartheid" common in many restaurant and hotels?

Thanks once again for taking the time to stop by and join us for the Pabbas ice cream and Ibbani cafe stops. It was great fun to watch the Tiger 660 being put through its paces in the mountains, as well as CrAzY_dRiVeR being put through his paces at the Pabbas outlet with 2 gigantic Sundaes after a heavy seafood meal, lol!

Great ride report and lovely snaps and narration to boot! Hope you had a fantastic weekend ride and looking forward to many more such memorable rides with the T660 .

I was there yesterday actually and I asked them about it too - it has nothing to do with bikers / riders as such .

They don't want Swiggy / Zomato delivery agents to use the customer washrooms and this sign is for them, not general bike riders as such. They have separate washrooms for staff and food delivery agents apparently, so they don't want them hogging customer washrooms inside the main restaurant hall . Especially on rainy days, apparently the Swiggy guys enter washrooms wearing raincoats and muddy shoes and mess up the washrooms. This is what the guy at the billing counter said when I asked him about this bizarre sign.

Never noticed it

I went walking in the morning and didn't need to use the washroom at all. But was really surprised when you mentioned this.

Glad Karthik has more answers than questions, as always. Makes sense with his explanation now.

Thanks again for all the help with the last minute planning, man! Had a wonderful overnighter thanks to your help.

I'm again planning Tirunelli once I'm back in Bangalore- will call you up for another last minute plan once that gets cancelled again.

re: One bike to tame them all! | Part - II | My Triumph Tiger Sport 660. Edit: 20,000 kms up!

Due to the holiday season and the optional holidays availed - could manage to squeeze in a couple of short rides early this week.

First one was an evening ride to airport side with the Hunter and the CB500X. I rode the 500X back whereas my friend wanted to try the Hunter instead.

Second was a ride to Shoolagiri HP complex for old times sake - This particular petrol bunk and Krishna Inn was very popular with outstation biking and car groups not so long ago before other options came up.

BHPians shaikhmimran on his Suzuki VStrom 650 and neil.jericho on his Continental GT 535 joined for this ride -

Waiting at Silk board for the others to join:

I have had the STs on the Versys and they were pretty decent tyres.

Any real world reviews for the Eurogrip Roadhound? Have seen some journos go crazy about it - but it looks too early to get any real world feedback.

Option 1: Michelin Road 6 = 48,000/-
Option 2: TVS Eurogrip Roadhound = 29,998/-
Option 3: Vredestein Centauro NS = 26,563/-
Option 4: Vredestein Centauro ST = 24,438/-

Suggestions welcome
Just wanted to share my two cents on the Vredestein Centauro ST tires I've been rocking on my Ninja 1000. Clocked around 10,000 kms with the ST, at first, I felt the heft of the tires during a few rides. Slowly but surely, that heavy feeling started to fade away, and I found myself getting the hang of it. For the price, I'd say it performed admirably. Recently, I did – Mumbai - Bangalore - Coorg - Bangalore - Goa and finally back to Mumbai, totaling over 3,000 kms. The sustained high-speed highway stretches really put these tires to the test, and unfortunately, it seems they've taken a bit of a beating. Performance has dipped quite a lot, and it looks like I'll be needing some new rubber soon.

After scrolling through the feedback here on the Centauro NS, I'm thinking of giving it a shot. Or maybe I'll just stick to what I know with another set of Centauro STs. Prior to Vredestein, I was using Metzeler Roadtec 01, which held up like a champ for a solid 16,000 kms. That tire was in a league of its own, seriously! Sadly, the price tags on the Roadtec 01 and Michelin PR6 are reaching for the stars, so Vredestein it is for now.

Thanks a lot Sachin.

Even I switched from the Metzeler Roadtec 01s to the Vredestein STs on the Versys 650 when i had it. Can't believe how much our market changed after my last purchase of the Metzellers. Even locally made Vredestein tyres cost much more than what the Roadtec had originally costed me, in fact it was just Rs 18274/- for the pair in July 2018.

Coming to the tyres, our experience was similar too! Metzeller was brilliant and may be second only to the Michelin Road5s!

That said - I might give the Vredestein Centauro NS a try - considering the CSS sesions I signed up for! If the Michelins are good to last through the track sessions as well - I will get Road6 for the next change after the sessions.

But if I need tyre change before track day, I will get the Centauro NS - do the trackday and opt for Michelins in the next change.

re: One bike to tame them all! | Part - II | My Triumph Tiger Sport 660. Edit: 20,000 kms up!

Road 6 may cost double the price when compared to the NS, but would easily last double the distance and maintain grip levels unlike what people say for the ST variant and not sure about the NS. So, net net the damages on the wallet is similar in the long run.

I had to go for the ST when my tires were due for a change on the Busa and while I have used them for less than 2k kms till date and have had no complaints with grip levels while cornering or braking the thought of loosing traction does play on my mind.

So, unless the 48k at one go pinches you financially the Road 6 is what your Tiger deserves

I was following the same on your thread and I guess this would be an ultimate test for the ST, trying to put down all the mighty power and torque that the Busa produces. Really looking forward to more updates on the Bluebird from you.

I will stick to Road6 if the CSS sessions can be managed on the current Road5s. The financial pinch is temporary frankly due to some back to back to back biking expenses - the Hunter purchase this month, wife purchasing better gear, a longer road trip planned for the year end, one helmet purchase planned for wife and CSS in Jan.

ST I'll anyways skip after all the above feedback. Even if getting a new set for CSS - I guess I'm better off getting the NS instead. Fingers crossed.

On my big bikes I never accelerate hard from the first gear/stand still except for that rear ocassion so the rear tyre has it easy in that case, but when I have to take tight corners I brake really late with aggressive downshifts and then punch my way through. So, without a slipper clutch at times the rear locks momentarily, which I am accustomed too now and doesn't scare the shit out of me.

The ST is handling this style of riding well along with those powerful one gear down overtakes. I had mentioned in my thread on my last post that the rear moves around a little too much for my liking when compared to the 848, but that is with the softer stock suspension setting and not the tyres.

All the best with the NS and do ride the bike with the new tyres before hitting the track as they need around 200 kms of running in as well before being put to the test.

Night Ride to Gauribidanur AP border

Couple of older rides left to be added to the thread. This only happened in the last week of July.

Rode with my CB500X friend who had a tough week and only could manage to step out for a ride post dinner. Turned out to be a very pleasant ride on a moonlit night. Took the Doddaballapur road to Gauribidanur AP border and back.
