re: 2024 Honda CB1000 Hornet unveiled. Edit: Now bookings open

This bike is shaping up to be the biggest blockbuster hit in the European market for next year. Every single review is praising its superb handling, sound, character and of course the super competitive pricing

Considering the pricing for 650's and Ninja 1100x I am not so eager now knowing Honda will price this close to 14L on road at a minimum and make Z900 the best buy for most.

Yes, I am wishing for Z900 pricing to book one.

Two Kawasaki motorcycles in the garage? Sweet

That said - my pick here would be the CB1000 Hornet, even though I'm usually vocally against Honda India due to their products being boring, overpriced or both boring and overpriced.

But the international reviews of the CB1000 Hornet paint a truly promising picture- not only is it brilliantly priced abroad, but also seems to be tuned to be an exciting ride irrespective of the pricing

Of course Honda India will charge their usual brand premium - with the CBR650R being priced at 9.99L here and 7999 in the UK with the CB1000 Hornet being 8999 - I'm hoping they do a reasonable (by Honda's CBU CBR 650 pricing standards) of 10.99L.

Re: 2024 Honda CB1000 Hornet unveiled. Edit: Now bookings open

This will not be costing less than 13.99 lakhs India knowing the post Guleria management who have let a once promising idea of Bigwing dealerships now suffer due to lack of supply of both motorcycles and spare parts.

I pity those who invested in Bigwing dealerships. They'll meet the same fate as the post 2010 Honda car dealerships. What's worse is that unlike the Amaze these guys don't even have one entry level product that would bring people in.

The CB350s for all my liking is a tad overpriced for what it offers. I know inflation is horrendous but I paid 2 lakhs on the dot onroad for a then advanced liquid cooled 250cc CBR250R which was a worldwide success for the brand as an entry level sport bike. Fast forward to a decade later nobody wants the 350 that's costing almost 2 times as much with poorer specs.

Its amazing how they didn't want to launch the CBR300R here even though it shared 95% of the components with the 250R save for the bodypanels and headlamp assembly. They let the 250R die a slow death and then launched the CB300R instead of the CBR300R which makes absolutely no sense considering how the Ninja 300 was selling even a decade after its launch for 4 lakh rupees.

I hope HMSI realizes its on thin ice aiming to beat Hero that they've ignored the premium bike market that's now frankly overflowed with multiple offerings.

Once again, I pity the Bigwing guys who not only took up big investment on a fake promise but also have been armtwisted in selling bikes upto 500cc only in tier 2 cities which makes even less sense for Honda.

Is this post removed? I think the post was for CBR650R bookings and they put the Hornet 1000 teaser by mistake.

Let's hope there's no smoke without a fire!

Happy riding,

Don't think so because the hashtags are also calling out the CB1000 only and not the 650 twins.

It has been almost a month and no updates from honda. They have a good bike in hand and can finally challenge z900 sales yet they are sitting idle to move things faster.

Anyone tried pre-booking and if they have any information about actual availability or timeline?
