Saw a nice sounding all red 1198 the other evening at Carters. Sounded different, not sure if those were stock pipes.

I know the Night Rod rider quiet well. He's also got a gixxer. The Nightster rider has another Harley as well.

Just spotted a white Yamaha R1 outside "cuppa mocha" sec-9 panchkula. The bike was looking mean upfront. My phone cam sucks bigtime. So I'm sorry for not getting any pics.

You meant that in India or globally? If that's on global scale, I don't think so
Busa's rep globally mate... In India the 1st question is "is that a busa" even if its written Kawa/Honda etc in bold letters... just my experience...

So on a global scale... what's your take...?

@ Karizma,

Saw one such 2010 R1 in same Raven Black color as above, at NCPA (Mumbai) around morning 7.30 on 28th November. A father and a kid came on it. This one doesn't look inspired at all. In fact, when you compare it with others in the same league, it looks and sounds like a wet crow. Such a sissy! Tch tch tch. Yamaha. Glorious days are behind now. :(

On the other hand, I can't wait to see a BMW S1000R or Kawasaki 2011 ZX-10R! Totally menacing, amazing and exciting machines! In love with both of them.

It depends on individual taste buddy , its not how it sounds , its how it performs . Ride it to believe it , this bike just handles like a dream . Regarding the sound , it sounds no different than an Italian

i see nothing wrong with the bike & feel its 1 step ahead of the old styling, the frame & the shot chassis,
this bike for sure behaves like a dream, every time there is a new shape in the market people talk bad about the looks & the performance but over a period of time they out grow it,

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Woah woah... Please dont judge superbikes based on the sound they make.. the reason the new r1 makes a different noise than the others is due to its crossplane firing order which is a result of a cross-plane crankshaft having its pistons arranged 90 degrees apart from each other. this was the same technology introduced in the M1 in 2004 i guess. the result is a better and smooth power delivery on road.

the bike has infact raised the bar for the litre class competition out there. I didnt mean any disrespect to anyone. i am just impressed by the new R1

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

The new r1 has some serious heating issues which are well documented on the yamahaforums. That couple with the looks(matter of personal taste as karizma put it) have resulted in a somewhat mixed response to this model.

Yes. My bad. I'm not that good at Harley Davidson models. With my limited knowledge, I thought it was a Super Glide. Thanks again for the correction. Appreciate it.

Damn !!! The RUNE is one massive and intricate piece of machinery. Have seen one myself in person. You gotta see it to believe it.
