We stopped at the same place in the morning and there were hardly any cars or bikes there though we did see quite a few bikers meeting up at Silk Board before 6 AM. What time did you see these lovely bikes? From the shadows in the pictures I would say it looks like a little after noon.

It was around 11:30am on the 24th of February, 2015. Nice group of middle aged men and they looked quite tired so maybe this was on their way back from the 6am meeting.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Spotted a super-scooter (or watever they are called) the other day on FC Road Pune at around 7 pm. It had the looks of Aprillia SRV but I am not sure what make/model it was. A guy around mid 40's was riding it. It was blue in colour and had an amazing exhaust note.

Sorry couldnt click pictures as was driving and he zoomed past me in the traffic.

Yep, just Googled it. It was definitely the Yamaha Tmax. Any idea of the price. Is it officially sold in India by Yamaha? Also the one I saw was not registered, so was a new one.

Nice ride. However, it annoys me when people who ride these big machines do not give a damn about wearing protective gears. Many of whom I've seen, ride in their flip flops without helmets!
@Mani - If you know this guy, ask him to invest on a good riding jacket, gloves and a pair of boots. Safety aspect covered and he'll look a lot beefier on that massive bike!

I get your point , but i dont think riding jacket & pair of riding boots is necessary for within city limits . But pair of gloves will help in riding this massive machinery . Like you said people wear flip flops & no helmet , this guy should be appreciated that atleast he is wearing a good helmet and some good pair of shoes . Just my opinion though.

Jacket, beefy boots and leather glove are bare minimum, I think.
But then, IMO, we should not ask anyone to do anything. Surely they know what they want and need, being adults. Up to them to think about themselves and their dear ones.

This person has good riding gear.

I agree..i ride a zx 14r, In the city i just wear a t shirt, helmet, gloves since i am so used to it and shoes that i have worn or my astars smx3's for a 4 km ride. Long city cum part highway then the jacket is added. Any riding on the highways..my suit is there. So everything really depends on where one is going.

There is nothing as a pair of gloves will help in riding this massive machinery, gloves don't control the wrist..the rider does.. . They are just to make one feel comfortable and add some protection.

Beefy boots as in Harley types..? On a sports bike the toe area needs to be thinner to have proper control on the levers, can't have the shoe getting stuck in the gears. One does get street riding ventilated gloves (astars Masai), highway riding leather full length gloves are good.

Rightly said, they are all adults and know what they are doing, so no one should be judgemental about anyones attire. Their life, their choice.

Spotted, on its way to my garage

Not the harley types, When i told beefy, I meant protective. Doesn't have to look like a little tractor on foot. Like a SMX 1.1 even.

I think a light mesh jacket goes a long way in saving someone from low speed falls, which might happen to anyone, anywhere and anytime. Annoying little wounds on skin are very irritating.

ATGATT is great for people who follow and Tshirt is great for people who do.
Don't understand this force ATGATT comments everywhere these days. Everyone need not be so caring for everyone IMO.

BTW before I am given a lesson, I am somewhat ATGATT, somewhat because I don't wear riding pants all the time and just a knee guard instead either in/out toursers depending on travel time.

Sir if you don't mind, What is ATGATT?

I am not anti gear in anyways..i like my gear. My friends and myself even flag down pillion riders (men and women) without any gear or helmet on the highway and make the rider put them in a cab.

As i did mention before, its a riders choice..none of us have the time to go chasing and asking people to wear gear..they would just look at one with the you gone mad look or just ride on. The helmet law was enforced but one can see the police itself does not follow it.

As you mentioned it all depends on travel time..that the gear is chosen. Basics need to be there (helmet and shoes).
