Re: Superbikes spotted in India

I have been reading with some dread about the entry of the Chinese-Italian-Husqvrana made SWM 650 in its Enduro and Trail versions coming to India- the 600+cc single from Husky powers this bike.
All very good so far, but the seat height says 890mm.
RE with its Himalayan debacle, KTM with its reluctance on a 390 ADV, Hero with its lack of tech to bring the Impulse Plus (to borrow from mobile phone speak)- the ever delayed TRK 502 promiseg at sub-6L and a this 890mm seat height.
Something is wrong. The karma of ADV bikes in India is hopeless.

How did the Tiger rider manage with the heft and really tallish seat height? Or have the roads got so much better that you cam ride without planting your legs down. My last trip was in 2012 and except for More plains, the roads were okayish but i would have preferred a bike that lets me plant my feet firmly on the road anyday!

Well, the roads have certainly improved atleast on the main circuit from the last time I visited in 2014. However we were mostly off this circuit for atleast 2 to 3 days where the roads were either very bad or non-existent. The rider handled Tiger really well. He is used to the height and the dynamics of the bike.

Wow! Love how it is kept. Would love to see her if you're in Bangalore sometime. Actually, don't mind visiting Mysore just for this.

How easy are parts to come by?

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Parts are easy to source on ebay.com. But costs lot of money for shipping. I manage to buy the parts and have them shipped to willing NRI friends and get them. It is Quite expensive though. You can come to Mysore and see the bike. Please email or call before coming.

Thanks a lot for your kind words. You have rightly said, it was worth all the effort. Must thank all kind hearted people like Mr Johnny Perira ,Mr Andrei

I have owned it for over 6+ years now. It was imported during 1990s. Changed two hands before coming to my place.
