Just a small correction - its the older Diavel, not the xDiavel.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

A superbike of the yesteryear found in my friend's apartment parking. This bile was pulled out of it's hibernation and is now awaiting a restoration.

Spotted this Busa yesterday on NH24.

Seems like this biker bro is using it for commute as spotted him in evening again.

Once in a blue moon, I ride to my workplace in Noida from my residence in Gurgaon. While it is fun in the morning hours due to limited traffic, the return leg is always exhausting as my motorcycle heats up as soon as I hit DND from Noida and I always have to crawl in the first or second gear from DND all the way till AIIMS, sometimes even till Moti Bagh. The final Dhaula Kuan to Gurgaon stretch is a lot relaxing though !

Wonder how this guy manages to commute on his Busa.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

A friend picked up a ZX10R on Thursday. The TWI brothers already own a Ducati monster.

It is a speculation on my part as I spotted him in morning as well as in evening.

PS: My office is also in Noida. Do let me know if we can catch up sometime, will treat you to Ultra sweet smoothie of newly opened Burger king.

One of my friends, a former Hayabusa owner, said that the Hayabusa never ever overheated and stopped in the worst of Mumbai traffic, but this Tiger has overheated and stopped at least once. Apparently, the multitude of tuners abroad who make turbo-Busas and other such higher HP Busas, seem to have found the cooling adequate.

Hayabusa owners here please chime in.

Owning one for over 15 years now, first the Gen 1 and now the II, I can confidently say that in bumper to bumper traffic or even slow moving traffic for that matter the bike will heat to a point where you will have to get off it and stand when a red light comes.

It will easily toast your thighs. However, it will very rarely if ever overheat or shut down. So in that regard it is pretty sorted.

A turbo is completely different and does not merely rely on the heat dispensation characteristics of the body.

More than the heat, it is the weight and size that gets to your in day to day commute.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

I have owned two Gen 2 Busa over 7 years (sold her in Apr 2017). During this period this I used to ride the bike at least 3 to 4 days each week. My route was from Ramamurthy Nagar to Whitefield via KR puram.

During my ownership, I have covered about 10k each year in city + 25K touring, this bike never broke down.

The bike has stopped at signals a few times (4 or 5) and refused to start, primarily due to engine temp being high and the cut off kicking in.

It does heat up and feels hot around the thighs, but if given the opportunity, I would buy a busa again.

I love it for its reliability, fuel efficiency and not to forget its power delivery.

Re: Superbikes spotted in India

Ah the Hayabusa! I never rode one but saw one yesterday riden in heavy traffic. I am not very well versed in superbikes but the Hayabusa is simply unmistakable. A very easy to recognize design. How that person was riding it in heavy traffic with a pillion I have no clue!

Daytona does have one of the most committed riding positions - but I know someone who tours on it
