Honda has unveiled the new CB 1000F concept at the Osaka Motor Show in Japan. The concept looks ready for production and is based on the CB1000 Hornet that recently created shockwaves with its pricing strategy.

The CB1000 Hornet is a new naked motorcycle that was unveiled at EICMA last year and uses a detuned version of the 2017 Fireblade motor and replaced the CB1000R which was once available for sale in the Indian market as well. The motor makes 147hp of peak power and more than 100Nm torque. Honda has also used a steel twin spar frame to keep the costs down. That bike starts at £8,999 for the standard version and £9,999 for the SP version.

When launched, the CB 1000F will go up against rivals like the Kawasaki Z900RS and the Suzuki Katana and is expected to have an excellent pricing strategy as well - similar to its naked sibling:

The Yamaha XJR1300 has been my all time favorite Sport Heritage motorcycle and this one comes close in terms of styling, although, I absolutely hate the digital screen instead of the classic, round, analog clocks.:crying

Let's hope this isn't just another Honda concept that never makes into production. It is probably the best looking modern incarnation of a retro barring the Triumphs. Looks like a slightly modernised CB900F.



It might turn out to be a Japanese only model as Honda has a history of keeping these special bikes to their home country.

I think its a global product and not a jdm as many reports state it will go head on against the katana and the z900rs. I just hope its made in Thailand instead of japan to keep the import costs low and not price themselves out like the z900rs.

I like the design. Its very retro 80's cool and that seat looks very comfy and spacious. I wish more manufacturers give us seats like this instead of the usual half an ironing board that has sadly become the norm these days
