I really don't think that India has a market for these in any "reasonable" quantity. A niche product, it shall remain.
Cheers...
Honda is gearing up to launch the X-ADV 750 in the Indian market. The company has released a short teaser video, which indicates that the launch is imminent.
The Honda X-ADV 750 is an all-terrain maxi-scooter – a cross between an adventure bike and a scooter. It has a sporty design with a large fairing in the front, housing a pair of LED headlamps and an adjustable windscreen. There’s a stepped seat, wide handlebars with knuckle guards, and an upswept exhaust.
Powering the X-ADV 750 is a 745cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 57.7 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and 69 Nm @ 4,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The suspension setup comprises an upside-down fork in the front and a mono-shock in the rear, offering 153 mm and 150 mm of suspension travel, respectively. The X-ADV rides on wire-spoke wheels that are wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. Braking is handled by dual rotors in the front and a single rotor in the back.
The X-ADV comes with a 5-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Other features include cruise control, ABS, keyless ignition and five riding modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel and User.

I'll never really understand how they choose what products to bring in to our market. They could have brought CB500F or CBR500R or CB750 Hornet which would have sold well in the growing mid size segment but we get a super expensive scooter instead. What a shame!
Launched at 11.9 lakh ex-showroom! [

Honda seems to be on a spree of launching irrelevant bikes and scooters in India. They appear to be content with their Activa and the CB350 models for the Indian market.

The X-ADV 750 may look like a product that will have very few takers but its actually good news for us enthusiasts if you look at the larger picture. Two entirely new premium motorcycle/scooter launches, that too in the same week, that is unheard of Honda. It is clear indication that Honda is finally taking the Indian market seriously and launching multiple new products. I also strongly believe that more products like the Hornet 750 and 1000 will also be launched very soon as they were also showcased to dealers along the already launched CBR's and X-ADV.
If honda officials are a little awake about launching premium products in India lately, it would be nice to get the option of cb1000 hornet and cbr500r!

But pricing remains their Achilles' heel. This X-ADV pricing makes no sense when you have the Transalp.
This appears to be a potential competitor for BMW C 400 GT, which doesn't have any takers so far. Honda should consider localizing this engine and give it in CB 350 body style, I'm sure there will be some takers for it.
In it's own league, to my eyes, this scooter looks smashing. Except for the price, everything seems pretty good and suitable to Bangalore's non existent roads.
I really want one now! This is such a cool concept. Manufacturers must be encouraged to bring these interesting niche products into our market more often. It is time we shed our conservative tag for some fun. Having said that, stupid pricing will deter everybody from buying the cool interesting stuff. This scooter will sell incredibly if it cost 4 lakhs less than what it is now.
These 2 gems costs less, makes more power, has sweet sound than this Maxi & one of them is best class in Adv. Indian market is yet to mature for a 750 Maxi!!

On the brighter side, nice to see Honda launching interesting products like BMW Motorrad. The above mentioned 2 gems do have one big problem - pillion comfort - like my better half who is 4 x 5 (4 feet wide x 5 feet height). Scooter solves that problem. Wish they localise at least the 350 version.
