Suzuki SBK's launched - Hayabusa & Intruder EDIT- Now Gixxer Announced

Yes guys, the thread title says it all. I have just had a long chat with the owner of the "sole" dealership for Suzuki SBK's in India. There will be no showroom in Bombay. It will be in Pune. The bikes will be available on loan, with Suzuki official warranty and service.

They are starting off with the Hayabusa in November '08, Gixxer 1000, Boulevard 1800, Gixxer 600. That is the exact order in which they will be launched. The bikes that will be sold would be '09 models.

Great news!! But what is the price srtaight6, will it be 11 Lacs like the R1?

My guess will be Busa and the Gixxer 1000 at 11 Lacs, the Boulevard 1800 at 15 lacs and the Gixxer 600 at 7 lacs.

The 600's in the gray market cost 7.25 so there is no way the official one will cost less than that!

The Busa will be for 12. No other prices were confirmed as it was the first bike that would be launched.

13? From whom did you get that figure?

It doesn't make sense to launch the 750 because it will have to be homologated like the 600 and the 750's don't really sell much abroad either. Anyone who can ride the 750 well can also handle the 1000. Not that people are going to ride the bikes to the limits. I guess seeing how many 1000's sell in the gray market Suzuki decided on that bike.

Thats a good news for all aspiring SBK's owners. So are they also planning any exclusive servicing centers (ofcourse the current lot of SBK owners do get their servicing done through their know channels)and sales of spare parts too under their banner without having the owners to run for elsewhere abroad.

His staff is leaving for Japan next month for training. There will be a Suzuki service center.

You will have to buy it from Pune. Yamaha doesn't have dealers in all cities either. There will be more dealerships coming up later in other cities and it will be the same guy starting them. There won't be one in Bombay.
