Its OK that they don't give test rides of such bikes. There are more time wasters here then genuine buyers.

Yes , I have heard of itec , vtec , ltec quad tech , airtech ,but I guess i have not heard much abt a honda diesel engine .

I prefer to call any engine manufacturer good only if the company has had a few diesel engines to its credit .

In India I have seen people go overboard with Sony , Honda for no reason at all .
All i can say is they do manufacture decent performing engines . If Honda did make the best engine , I do not understand where you would place a BMW .. LOL

I checked out the showroom in Bombay a few days back. Its still being constructed. The guy supervising it said it will take atleast 10 days. It will open by the end of this month.

This morning I got a call from Honda. The guy said that the bikes will be delivered in 5-7 days as they are already here in Haryana. They have sold around 5 bikes, including a CB 1000 to someone in Bombay. Honda has also tied up with HDFC bank. The showroom will also be the service center. Bikes will be sold through dealers and not directly from Honda.

The Fireblades are from Japan and the CB's are from Italy.

That bike has been designed and manufactured in Italy by Honda. It was specifically designed for EU.

Straight6,

Since the 1000RR is from Japan, is it restricted to 180km/h or has that been removed for exported bikes manufactured in Japan ?

What makes you say that the bikes from Japan are restricted to 180 km/h?

@S6

ah, I misunderstood your statement as in being bought from Japan as opposed to manufactured in Japan ? Japanese market has 180km/h speed restriction on all road vehicles if I'm not mistaken , but since there must be export models manufactured in Japan too, they would be shipped without the speed restriction then.

There was never a speed restriction. Only the meters (analogue) were restricted to 180 km/h. The bikes would usually go much faster. I have experienced that myself on a Honda X-4.

These days the bikes have digital meters so they cant be restricted that way either.
