Is the bike in Bangalore? If yes, there are lots of people there who can service it.

The parts are easily available in the US. Be prepared to pay shipping+duty. Unless, you have people who can get it along with them frequently.

Yes, you are right and my friend is about to lay his hands on it. It's a 2001 bike which has done 19K I suppose.

If they have owned the bikes for sometime then, they should know where you can take it for service.

19K miles? hmm.. check the service manuals and see at what KM they recommend valve clearance checks. See if there are hotch-potch jobs on the bike, you will be surprised with the cheap tricks if there are any. last thing you would want after spending so much for a bike is horror stories. if its a well maintained bike, you dont need ANYBODy to service it, as you need to just change the oil and oil filter every 4000-5000KM. That you can do it yourself. its like dentist visit, see if you can aviod it. There are absolutely NO decent service center for superbikes in India. Show me one place where they have dust proof environments and factory specified tools and spares. what you see in most places is hammer/chisel, drill/bits etc etc. Unless you are hell bent on the kawa, try to get a honda, as maintenance/spares are easier for Hondas. And honda engines lasts really long as long as you dont open them needlessly and feed it with quality fuel and oil. There was an old post by our good friend "RTech" read it. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/everyt...-india-10.html Don't hurry in your enthusiasm to get A foreign bike. Take your time, look around, ride few, try to get as later models as possible.

Does it have a single headlamp assembly, or the twin eyed ones?
Inder, if it the same bike i think it is, you should know a couple of things on it:

1. The bike is a 99 spec, single clear headlamp examples were manafactured only in 98-99

2. The papers are the usual shoddy baggage bike papers

3. When i had seen it last in early 2007, it was in excellent shape.
Does it yet have the front to back aftermarket exhaust?

manson.

Your friend is just not going to ever be able to hear the engine note, that is one loud exhaust.

The seller says its a '01 manufacture which is wrong. Manmeet, this is the same bike my mechanic told me about in Nasik. Which exhaust is that?
