Kawasaki Vulcan 500 - 2.55L

Hi All,

Need your expert advice again

My friend who just bought a Honda Nighthawk 650cc <posted earlier in this thread>a while ago has seen and driven this bike. The bike drives fine. No issues in terms of abnormal noise/sound from engine. The specs are as follows:

Kawasaki Vulcan 500

Model – 1996
Imported – 2006
Owner- Single
Mileage – 26000
Engine - Liquid cooled Twin Cylinder
Drive - Belt driven
Colour – As per snaps attached

Could experts provide the insight on this bike? Parts/ Maintainance etc..?

Is it a good deal @ 2.55L?

I dont know what the prices are for imported bikes back home, but 2.55 lakhs for this is too much by any standard. You get these for the equivalent of Rs.30-40,000 out here.

Inder when i was looking for my bike four years ago, 750cc Valcun and similar bikes were offered to me at 2 lakhs and that too negotiable. I figure this being a 500 cc should be 1/1.20 lakhs negotiable. I am no expert but this is what i feel.

A 06 model 500cc Vulcan should be around 175-2.25, you should negotiate. but if the bike is real good condition than a lil never hurts.
As for parts and maintenance, parts are hard to find and have to be imported as there are not many of these around.BUt these bikes are built to last as they are entry level bikes elsewhere.

check the belts and sprockets carefully for wear. They are NOT cheap. Stick to only Tarmac.
