Might be a stupid question, but what is that long triangular thing below those boxes on the rear. It looks like some kind of a float. Is it used to carry something or has some other purpose?

cheers
The boxes are called panniers. The "panties" on this bike cost over $3000 including the mounts. Those triangular mini panties I would guess would be for tent poles.
