Remember not to run after any 600 that is NOT on TR (They are plain & sinple illegal as per law). You can't have anything less than 800 running in here without bringing them on TR. Always look for the right papers and be sure to read RTECH's document before evening paying a token. That's a bible for any newbie wanting to get in that zone.

This thread is finally gone cold no news for a while
well news for all
the DRI does have an option of clearing your bike if you are willin to pay the duty and Penalty. its a quick process and lets yu ride your bike around tension free.
This is from the first hand experience of 2 bikers.
The Q is mostly if yu wanna wait and watch or go and clear it out on your own.
they do have all the papers and registrstion of all the bikes and its mostly a matter of time i guess before they get down to trackin bikes individually.
as of now they have released 12 of the 70 odd confiscated bikes
todays Mumbai mirror has another write up of DRI servin notice too 18 RTO cops.
My suggestion guys go clear your bikes or loose them

Thats good news. Atleast those who really want to have the right papers (and their bikes back, of course) would be there in a jiffy to release the vehicles.
Good job! I hope the DRI makes this process smooth, and relatively hassle free.

Would it be possible for you to let us know what are the procedures and who would be the best possible contact for that.

Thats no news its been there since the time they started impounding the bikes. The duty is quite hefty & that's why people are not bothering to pay up & clear their bikes.

well the process is quite smooth and hassle free
and from what i understand the guys were quite decent to the bikers.
PM me if yu guys want further details
as for the duty being Hefty well most of the guys have already spent 8 to 10 lakhs on their bikes. another 5 to 6 to keep their noses and bikes clean is the price to pay now
if your bikes arent available in India then the guys wud rather clear the duty
else dump them and buy a clean one from india only
also whats the point of havin the bike if yu gonna always worry every time yu see a cop ?

I doubt Suzuki would be that stupid to evade dutes and then sell the bikes for 13.75L.
I believe you are talking about Harjeet makkar. Ya he claimed he is a official dealer of suzuki. He is quiting this buisness, he is opening a restaraunt on the upper floor.
He presented me a file showing many DD's from 2 to 6 lacs... with a total of 80lacs duty he paid on confiscated bikes. But i don't think he paid it,(as claimed by him) he must be collecting it from the owner and then forwarding it to the DRI and then setting th bikes loose.

DRI sets loose the bike after paying, octroi and then it is transfered to your name, so it is legal now. As to my sources, though i am not sure, please don't grab me if i am wrong. The onwers who don't wish to pay the duties and let go of their beauties, DRI is selling them to whoever is willing to pay the duties and taxes and become the official owner.
