International News - Yamaha Diesel bike!

Hold your horses! Its not been launched yet, but at least they've been granted a patent.
Yamaha patents turbodiesel motorcycle engine - Hell For Leather
It has an inline 4 TCIC diesel engine - and looks good too!

Great news!! But I doubt whether this will come to india in the near future. It may make sense for indian market if it gives some good fuel efficiency.

Damn. I was thinking about manufacturing a diesel bike while reading the new reva thread.
Ideas do travel very fast

Still. It would be really good. A good market could be captured with this.

Why not a CRDi one?

And no pix, just some cross section of whole thing. No numbers even!

More than speed, acceleration or looks, inline-four cylinder bikes are all about the screaming/howling sound. And diesels, CRDi or no-CRDi, sound pathetic. So, personally, I think it defeats the very purpose of an inline four.
