Monster is pretty rare and not commonly imported like Gixers and R1s.

Get a Comet, its pretty close to a monster, V twin oil cooled, no bodywork, round headlight.........

There are a couple of them in Bombay, though not sure if they are the 600 or 900cc versions. There is also atleast 1 in Hyd. Remember seeing it on a thread about sbk's in Hyd. Dig around in the motorcycles section and you'll find it. However, never seen or heard about one for sale. Yet.

Seen a very badly maintained S2 at the first SpeedRun. I've seen better maintained corpses. Almost cried.

Monster 400 & 600

In the mid 90s, the cops in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) were given the Monster 400s & 600s, but most of the bikes conked after 2000-3000kms due to the extreme conditions & very bad maintenance. Finally they sold about 200 odd bikes for as cheap as US$ 600 per bike. The CDI on all the bikes (located below the fuel tank) had gone kaput and most of the bikes looked as if they came out of a MAD MAX movie. Many bike enthusiasts here with limited budgets took the bikes and restored them, but they all say that the one major problem is that the moment the battery goes weak due to non-usage of the bike for a week or more, the CDI goes kaput when you try to crank the bike with a weak battery. At about US$ 300 for the CDI unit, its not cheap to keep replacing it. On and off I see them on the roads when I ride, but the stock silencer sounds louzy. I hope the new version Monsters are better.
