When HD V-ROD hits Hero Honda Splendor

One fine morning when the weather is just awesome, somebody decides to unleash their beast and to take a round of the city on their shining HARLEY DAVIDSON VROD however things get crazy and the Harley hits a Hero Honda Splendor at about 110 to 120 kmph ( just a wierd guess as mentioned by some eye witness)
Well, soon enough the Police arrives at the scene and people around are just awestruck to see such a heavy bike in the accident, soon youngsters just gather around and everybody starts clicking pictures, However the police just doesnt care(they instead were interested in my friends R15 and took some pictures on it )
Well here are the pictures of both the V-ROD and the Splendor.....

At first looking at HD, I wondered how could a bike so strong turn this bad, then looking at splendor, I can only imagine the speeds at which these were hit. My splendor once had a head on with a chetak at a speed of 40kmph (the other driver was drunk and was driving on the wrong side of the road in a street with no street lights), my bike's headlight was smashed and the front suspension had a small alignment problem, but all got fixed with service repairs of 2k.

But this one, wow !!! .. hope all are fine.

That is one expensive accident. HD looks in a very bad shape. Are there any HD service centers in HYD? or can this be taken care by any local mechanic? man, i would never let any local mechanic to even touch a HD (if ever i own one).

Is it actually a HD? The splendor seems to be the better built machine after this incident. My hearty condolences to the HD owner. We have to accept the fact that Indian roads & road manners are not matured enough for such superbikes. The roads are over crowded with such stupid mopeds whose owners dont even care to have gaze at other vehicles before taking a total U-turn in the middle of the highway. Its sad but its true.

Hi All,

The Harley Rider wasnt wearing any protective gear, and ive heard that HD rider wasnt hurt too much but the poor splendor fellow was bleeding too much and was taken to a nearby hospital ( havent heard anything after that).

Looks like the damage on HD is due to the handle hitting the ground or something. Still splendor has taken it really well.

Hope both bikers are safe.

Pretty bad for HD will cost minimum a splendor to get it in shape.
splendor too got messed up in the rear, but will be back in shape soon.

Its not safe to drive even a car at those speeds leave alone a bike even though its HD.

Please respect the other users on road. Driving at high speeds is not only injurious to yourself but will put others at risk.

WOW... this is scary . On a lighter note the HD guy can buy 5 brand new splendors in the cost he is going to spend on rebuilding his machine.

Harley Davidson is here in India by January.if the owner is ready to wait till then he might save atleast half a lakh.also the work will be done by trained proffessionals.if he waits he is goin to be the first guy to enter the service centre of HD .

The HD's taken a beating! On the contrary, the Splendor looks like the seat was ripped off, and minor structural damage happened!

Was 100 kmph cruising speed of HD owner? As far as I know, HD are meant to be cruisers & not superbikes.

Looks like HD would need replacement of front forks, handle bars, brake lever, foot peg and possibly front wheel. What's liquid beneath HD? Is it water or oil?

Splendor should change chassis as well but might just do with some welding work. Not sure whether Splendor owner will afford too much repair expenses and splendor might not be covered under insurance.
