Which is the best 600cc engine in terms of power-to-weight ratio and serviceability in India?
1) Honda CBR600RR
2) Yamaha YZF-R6
3) Suzuki GSXR-600
4) any other

You can get anything serviced here if you know where to go !

None of the three you mention are available in India,

The Yamaha is the highest revving engine ever with around 18k rpm.

The Honda is my favorite and the smoothest of the lot. I doubt Honda will service it here for you. Especially, since you're going to use it in a cart. What a waste of a motorcycle.

Actually there are quite a few dealers selling 2nd hand engines but they are pretty costly in comparison with dealers in US..almost double the cost.

Still if you had one of these bikes where or how would you find service to it? Do tuning shops provide it? Even if the engine is not on a bike?

Touch base with Ported Head on the forum for this. He was actively involved in sourcing an engine for his degree project a couple of years back.
With regards to the servicing, you could check with any of the imported bike mechanics around the city. They should mostly be able to help you on that.
I highly advise having a user manual handy all the time through your project, and being active on motorcycle specific forum once you have shortlisted which engine you're going to settle down with. People there have far more exposure to these machines and should be able to guide you on the advantages and shortcomings on either.

Thanks for that advice! I found service manuals of the CBR600RR and R6.

I have heard that the CBR600RR gearbox is pretty robust. What is your take on that?
