2006 GSX R600 What's with that exhaust pipe?

Here are the pics of the new 2006 suzuki GSX R600. The exhaust look disgusting for a superbike. What do u say.. See for yourself..

They are trying to ape the MotoGP monsters with that pipe. Present day suberbikes have become almost perfect, so the only way for a manufacturer to get some additional interest is by pulling of unique styling bits like that exhaust.

Check out the '06 R6, it has a similar exhaust.

it seems the smaller cans are becoming the 'in' thing in the super sports category :-)

Hehe ..... i checked the new 2006 models on the Yam & 'zuki some time back on thier website and yeah the cans look stupid, but i guess it will grow on us with time. What these reminded me of was the early day replacement cans that Mohsin Rizvi & Faiyaaz (Mumbai) fabricated for the CBZ when it was launched. They were the in-thing for the CBZ guys but damn at high revs the bikes were unbearable.

Bot talk about getting ugly, what are they actually trying to do out here ??????, Why do they have to go ahead and change the exhaust and make it uglier????

Okay I agree with the changing time you have to keep up with the competitors, but don't mess with the mods everyone is more interested in engine performance and not cosmetic changes!

And most of them have started routing the can under the seat. Also interms of designs, i feel there should be some major differences between bikes of different CC's. The 749 and the 999 look the same. The CBR600RR and 1000RR look the same.

i think the exhaust looks nice ... it's the "new look" .. going from under the tail look to circumsized exhaust ...

I think it is done in MotoGP to keep the CG low and the overall length and hence weight..... low.
