Re: Need purchase advice; Suzuki Bandit 1250S/ Yamaha MT01

Hi Jay
Notice you haven't posted on this thread for a while and not sure if you're still looking. One factor you may wish to consider is that the Bandit and MT01 are 4 and 2 cylinders respectively; 4 cylinder bikes are usually smoother to ride though they give away on torque. You may wish to consider that while making a choice.

Specifically as regards fuel, I ride a fuel-injected 2005 Honda Blackbird and I use regular unleaded petrol whether in Mumbai or on long rides and it has never caused any trouble on that front.

In case you haven't met gsferrari yet, would be a good idea to do so and pick his brain; the inputs are likely to be very useful!

Good luck with the decision.

Ravi

He already has the Akrapovic exhausts, Power Commander and K&N. Not sure what else you can do with the bike other than importing a full system stage-II exhaust with ECU.

I don't think it is particularly required as it defeats the purpose of the MT01 which is a relaxed cruiser.

Awsome bike. Will take some time get used to the massive torque.Took it for a spin but didnt have the guts to push it above 120 and it was still in 3rd gear.
I stay in Thane near Guru .you can check out the bike. Given it for servicing will be picking it up tomorrow.

Rahul. Congrats on your MT01. Unfortunately, ive been bogged with a hectic travel schedule and havent made any progress on my purchase decision. Thanks for the 'checkout' offer. Will PM you soon as Im ready.
A secondhand does sound like a smart way to go. Maybe I too should think on those lines. The savings compared to a new purchase will pay for the petrol and service.

So its you who bought the MT01? Maddy is my friend too. We live in the same building . I see that the photo is taken on the Podium 1 in our building in his parking place.

If you went to the ground floor you could have seen my brother's Honda Valkyrie parked next to my OHC

Hope to catch you around the next time you are here.

You might have already seen this but I just saw a thread for custom seized bikes which will be auctioned soon.
You might want to check that out once in case you are able to find something you are looking for and strike a awesome deal there.
The thread says DRI Auctions : List of seized Superbikes on sale
