re: Mahindra XUV500 or Ford Endeavour EDIT - Bought Captiva

Congrats himanshu. Waiting for your ownership report as I LOVE the Captiva.

You win some, you lose some. You wanted the finesse and so you bought the Captiva which misses the ruggedness of the Scorpio/Safari/Fortuner. So now onwards, no more bullying on the roads!

re: Mahindra XUV500 or Ford Endeavour EDIT - Bought Captiva

Folks....Kahani mein twist.

My wife just refuses to use the Scorpio as her daily drive. She has been using it for the last one week on a trial basis, and says that she likes her SX4 way better. i wont go into the reasons why (more features, more fun to drive, better safety etc etc) but bottom line is that the SX4 stays. the car has ben absolutely a gem to own in the last 4 years and given her limited running, will surely serve well for at least 4 more.

So now, I will be forced to part with the Scorpio since i dont have parking for three cars. I know i will take a hit on the resale, but am hoping given the strong demand for the scorp, it shoudl have a strong resale. I am ok with anything upwards of 8.5L

Oh boy,
8.5 is ambitious. One has to keep the price of the bare bones m2di version in mind.
All the best buddy hope things work out.

Congratulations on the Captiva.

I have a similar combo: SX4 for the wife, Fortuner for me. The SX4 is an underrated vehicle.

Thanks Srikanth and Nilanjan.

Nilanjan, yes I agree- the SX4 is a brilliant vehicle and IMHo a superior car to the ANHC- alas it is let down by its brand.

Congratulations! Did you buy the strange new gaping one or one of the last ones from the old stock?

If the latter, I'd be very interested in knowing what deal you managed to crack with the dealership.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 or Ford Endeavour EDIT - Bought Captiva

Thanks FS.

I bought the old stock- dont like the look of the new one. I got 1.7L off the ex-showroom price, which worked out to 1.9L off on the OTR price. final OTR 18.75 ggn

Re: Mahindra XUV500 or Ford Endeavour EDIT - Bought Captiva

So will the new one come in the same version once the old version is out of stock or are they planning on having 3 variants with 2 the 2011 design and one more 2012?

I was offered the same version but only in white. Still deciding.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 or Ford Endeavour EDIT - Bought Captiva

Maddy the new one will come with the new look, but in two engines- 2.0 for the manual fwd and 2.2 for the Auto AWD.

If you are getting the current one with a great deal, you shold consider it. I for one didnt like the interiors of the new one too much. The all black looks has somehow taken away the premium feel of the interiors that the current captiva has.

There are white and silver models in the factory and a couple of dealers also offered me black. In fact my ggn dealer has a black on display. All these cars have run less than 20 KM. Mine was at 15 km when delivered to me.
