Re: Used Grand Vitara - 2.0L or 2.4L?

I recently ordered the Bosch 19 inch wiper blades, yet to receive it.

Regarding headlamp, I never found the OE lamps inadequate, except in one sense. It has no corner illumination. One has to turn into dark alleys quite blindly. You can consider adding something to overcome that.

Servicing is very similar to SX4, same consumables too. Just tell them to clean AC filter everytime.

How old is the car? Is it the 2.0l or the 2.4l? The Grand Vitara is held pretty high in my books but unfortunately the market doesn't see it that way. 6.5lacs is simply too much

Re: Used Grand Vitara - 2.0L or 2.4L?

I have been told there is a MH registration 2007 Grand Vitara MT with 38000 kms for sale for 4L+ price. I only have a mobile number to pass on, and no other details. PM me for the number if anyone is interested.

Wanna go offroad? What about tyres?

I just want to add another viewpoint here:

Most people who are now waking up to the GV want to explore its offroad potential. Naturally they want to replace the stock tyres with AT or MT tyres.

The 2.0 model came with 225/70R16 while the 2.4 came with 225/65R17 tyres. Both Yoko Geolandar HT models. For the 2.0, AT/MT replacements are easy to find in 235/70 R16 size, as this is the stock size for the Scorpio. But finding AT/MT for the 17 size in India is very difficult. Keep this in mind when choosing between models.

My GV without much effort in traffic gives me 10/11 with ac, with out or with ac i didnt much difference in mileage drop. infact i love the sound arrest in the GV once the windows are up

Hi Sudev, so is the car still available? Where? How much has it run? What price? I am looking for my parents' car's replacement. Would love to know if there is a GV available in Delhi.

Re: Used Grand Vitara - 2.0L or 2.4L?

Bumping an old thread.

Pls guide.

Getting a used GV 75000 done, 2007 make, AT, Silver Colour for 2.75L in Delhi. I have quoted 2.25l.

Had a short test drive, and found the suspension would need overhauling, and bodywork, specially the cladding and the bonnet would need replacement. And the tyres also would last max 10,000 more.

Should I go in for this or should I dump this vehicle?

Am I missing out on something?

GV suspension overhaul is rather cheap. The price and milage look fine. The engine can easily last 150K+ kms. If you don't detect any other problem, you should go for it.

Let me share the TCO (regular + unscheduled service) of my GV from the Maruti app, mine has done 105,000kms. Keep in mind this is a CBU, made in Japan.

WOW that is seriously impressive. For a 4WD SUV itself that is a pretty low expenditure on maintenance. Forget the fact that it is a CBU. Wish the same could be said about my Kizashi. Have you done a suspension overhaul yet? Could you share the specifics on what you replaced and how much it costed you to do so? Dad is once again considering a 2.4 AT (we had thought of buying a brand new one right after we bought the Kizashi but then we were struck by a few financial constraints) to deal with Bangalore's terrible traffic and horrible roads.

Thanks

What other things should I look for before I jump in?
