Since you have the 2.0L version, do you feel its sluggish or not a fast mover on the highways. Within Mumbai, anyways the speeds dont go beyond 40kmph (60kmph if you get lucky) so i dont care much for in city driving.

Would be great if you could share your views.

And i wouldnt dare ask about how it handles Mumbai's cratered bad roads lest Samurai San comes running after me with his sword as he has consistently mentioned that the GV is an awesome bad roader.

@Desmosedici i am at andheri 4 bungalows and you are welcome to take a test drive the GV over weekend.

My Daily ride is a maruti zen and the fastet car i have driven is a civic, so for me vitara is a mix of feeling also it s a bit slow in the first gear, but on the highway its not at all slow u can easily do 140. On the goa highway i have done 160 with 4 elders.

I have driven this suv on the old mumbai goa highway in the nights with an average speed of 60/80. On the Corners this is the best SUV i have driven till now with fantastic handing on the ghats, In the innova on the same route i was not at all confident, but vitara has changed the way i used to handle ghats.

My family loves we done couple of long drives on bad and good roads overall a fantastic vehicle.

Seems like you love getting lost in this car that itself is a testament like an ad campaign. Really very confidence inspiring videos

If you are a hardcore SUV lover, I suggest you go for the Safari Storme, which has the best SUV DNA of all the 3 cars.

Re: Used Suzuki Grand Vitara or New Tata Safari Storme

No experience of GV. But seeing people voting for a 4 years old GV over a brand new XUV or Storme, makes me think GV is some hell of a machine comapred to the other two in discussions.

If this is the case, then isn't it a disaster on part of MSIL that they failed to make a mark in SUV segment in India.

I haven't bought yet, still deciding. Somebody today informed me that there is a pristine 2012 Captiva Auto diesel in similar price range.

With so many options, I mind keeps on wandering.

Random Cars by random manufacturers catch fire. I don't think a Captiva should be avoided just for that. Only one Captiva's fire issue is reported so far and as Samurai says, a recall is issued as well, so why avoid it?

Ahem, what you say doesn't match what the thread says. About 5 Captivas have caught fire and no recalls in India.

Some hunters are getting desperate too. Couple months back somebody way-laid me in the apartment building lift to inquire whether I am willing to sell my GV.
