Good Buy within 10lakhs!

My requirements.
  • Cars short listed
DICOR New one to be launched by Jan end the 2.2
Skoda Octavia Little over budget shall push it if this is the last
choice
Any other good SUV in this range already have a scorpio in
the family and am not interested to buy one again.
  • Price range
6 to 10 Lakhs
  • Maintenance & After Sales Service (A.S.S.) expectations
Easily available. Not very high on maintenance.
  • Average distance traveled per month
1500 - 2000 kms
  • Where car will be mostly used (city / highway / rough roads etc)
City - Daily, Highways once in a quarter, If you consider Pune's roads - they are close to "rough".
  • Chauffer driven / self driven: Self Driven
  • Whether the vehicle will be shared by other members of family: No sharing
  • Any specific requirements from car (ex. Better luggage space, responsive engine, rear seat comfort)
Should accomodate 3 adults and a child comfortably. With space for the prame and bags. (Not very large bags mid sized) Good driving experience and should have good road clearance.
  • How long you intend on keeping this car (and how important resale is to you)
Atleast 2 to 3 years, re-sale is important (should not depreciate more than 8 to 10% a month)

Also, please advise if I should wait, as cars are schedule to launch this year and am ready to wait till about july - aug 07 to make a decision if its worth it. Thanks in advance.

First suggestion is Simpson RED Limited Edition of Innova G1 Diesel, it will have good resale value because it comes with Rs50,000 worth fittings for just Rs.12,000 extra cost. All fittings are genuine ones. Innova's high seating gives great comfort and visibility in any driving conditions.

Only -ve about SUV/UV/MPV is in city driving conditons since turning radius is more you might find few occasions difficult to pass the car if you struck in traffic jams.but this Innova gives you Sedan like driving pleasure
with better ride comfort.

If you buy Safari/Scorpio/Tavera go for Simpson RED Limited Edition of Innova G1 Diesel or Innova G4 or V grade Diesel 8 seator.

However If you want to buy Sedan then plan to buy Petrol Sedan.

May be Verna or NHC or Hyundai Elantra or Corolla. But you need to think
about resale value because new versions or facelift of few Sedan are expected very soon.

So Innova is the right choice for sure

Regards,

Ravi,

PS This is my suggestion test drive and decide by yourself!

i agree about the innova. but i suggest a g4.. the dual ac really makes a big diffrence on the hot days.. since you want to seat only 4 people why not a 7 seater since the 2nd row bucket seats are more comfortable than the bench.

As the guys have pointed out - go for the Toyota Innova eyes closed. It fits in with all your requirements.

What about Verna Crdi? It looks like a pretty good package if you like the looks.
