Hi all

I need a vehicle in the price range of within 1 lakh .I dont require a car .so pls dont suggest me a m800 or omni . I alredy have a zen for my daily purpose doing its job well.i need the other vehicle for fun rides ,drives with friends mainly it should have the wow factor.i dont require a4*4.the mileage should be around 10kmpl.Does not matter whether petrol or diesel.

the vehicles which i have listed out are

1.Gypsy -soft top
2.Willys -low body short chassis one
3.American Kaiser jeep
4.contessa -but will need to mod it to look like a muscle car
5.TATA 207

plss dont suggest the classic or any of the latast M series mahindra as i dont like the high bonnet look.(no offence to any classic owner )

The Willys low bonnet is a good choice but the million $ question is where to find one. Try hard you may end up getting one, but a gud jeep will not come in the budget that u have specified, probably u will have to shell out atleast 25k more. You can also look out for the CJ3B's as well, and if you are planning to get a JEEP for fun, make sure u have 4X4 :-) In case even if u don't use the jeep for offroads you can still remove the joint and get the same mileage that u get from a 2WD...Think again !!

Yesterday i found aWillys the low bonnet short chassis one according to the dealer the vehicle was redone recently it has a peaget diesel engine , it is shod with 16 inch HR alooys and Good year eagle NCT 5 tyres the tyres are not in a gr8 condition it has a few bulges on it the paint was kind of greyish green it seems it was painted recently a few scaratches here and ther , out side it had four haella rally editon fogs and on the right fender there was a kind of a projector light on the left fender there was some red colored small size dagger there a axe too on the sides.the enterior was complete stock not good but acceptable. Overall it looked like a stunner. The price he qouted is 1.5lakh since i know him he is offering me a 20k discount. Is it worth it

For 1L, you could get a Tata 207 / TataMobile [IDI version], 1996-1997 vintage. 1998/99 onwards, which is the DI version, would be available starting about 1.6L

Jeeps in Hyd are really expensive and i will tell you if its in good condition then only expensive...
people are ready to pay 2+ for a good jeep with all extra fittings...

i am also haveing a Willys lowbonnet jeep which is been restored since 2 months...
i am restoring it from scrach that is why its taking time...

if ur getting a Good condition jeep with all extra fittings for 1.3L you should go for it...
DONT THINK TWICE...

its worth...

i have seen jeeps for 80K also but need lot of jobs...outter they look good but need lots of work inside...

make sure you take some one who knows about Jeeps...

zulfikar: the jeeps in HYD are pretty costly yesterday i came accross another willys of 1957 vintage the price he quoted was 3 lakh negotiable.the vehicle was complete in stock condition with a petrol engine.

Don't pay anything more than 40K. The car's obsolete and spares are now not so easy to source.

@ D.V.R a well maintained Willys Jeep can be as expensive as 4L . Why don't you consider the MM540/550's. You would get a good Jeep for around 70K ( 4WD ) and later u can modify it as per ur wish. Do not pay extra just for the extra light's and the extra axe which u get, you can get it done very cheap outside..
