This is what my friend bought last year.
This is one of the 60 special jeeps built to celebrate the 60 yrs of mahindra brand.
I don't have the pic when this jeep has open top with windscreen down.. It really looks great with that.

I would recommend Opera House, Mumbai for the black polypropylene fender flares.

BTW, the US 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has its complete fenders and the removable hard-top (not merely the separate flares) made of black high-density polypropylene.

Might add that the Wrangler's 3.8 litre V6 engine develops 205 bhp and 325 Newton-metres of rock-climbing torque.

Jeep was always about open-air fun and the waterproof hardtop has removeable panels that let you configure your Jeep the way you want it for the day.

Here are some options.

This Mahindra Legend belongs to one of my friend, now you must be wondering why the antirust is applied for the mags,my friend takes good care of his Legend and the same can be said about his driver, so much so that he applied it to the mags too .Thats why you can see the fog lamps wrapped in plastic...Enjoy the pics.

.

Cheers Ed.

Awesome breakup.. could only come from a jeep freak.

The XD was only for military use? Cause I have not seen a single XD badge on a private vehicle.. How low would a XD go for? Am interested to buy one in a year or so.

I think the limited edition Mahindra Legends (60 vehicles) were sold by invitation only.

Daiii ! Like I said in a year or so. However I really want a Freaken Jeep as the Moronic Auto Drivers will only respect a Jeep coming at him. When he sees a shiny car he knows you will screech to stop.

With a XD I would make sure I brake late if there is no passenger in the Auto.
A little Nudge maybe

Coming back to the topic.... How much would I need to part with to get a decent condition MM540 .. does not have to be the XD.

I found a few things about the Legend that made me think away from it...
1)Limited Edition/highly priced - means hard to find one 2nd hand/will be costly.
2)Crappy looking alloys - look like aftermarket fitments
3)small tires - I just dig those "tall" tires used by the army uses
4)crappy engine
5)hate those overhead headlamps

2006 Legend - Diesel MDI3200TC (2650cc & 68Bhp 18Kgm@1800)

This is excluding the Chassis Variations.
There are some errors in this data.

The 2112 cc Peugeot diesel was called XDP 4.90
Its output was 62 or 68 (not 58) bhp @ 4500 rpm depending on configuration.

The vehicle was called Mahindra MM 540 DP, not MM 540 XDP.
The MM-540DP and NC-640DP with a Korean 4-speed Kia KMT-90 gearbox bowed in 1985. Along with them was introduced the MM 440 with the ancient F-head Willys Hurricane petrol engine. Early 1985 models produced 75 bhp.

M&M got Indian govt. permission for technical collaboration with Automobiles-Peugeot, France in 1979 for the manufacture of XDP 4.90 diesel engines. The earliest Mahindra Peugeot XDP 4.90 on the 1981 Mahindra NC 665DP truck actually put out 75 bhp @ 4000 rpm, rivalling the late model Willys Hurricane F4-134 petrol engine's output.

There were three diesel injection pumps available.
With the second one, the engine developed 62 bhp @ 4500 (DIN70020) and with the third the engine developed 68 bhp.

Max. torque in all cases occured at 2000 rpm. It was 120.6 Newton-metres @ 2000 rpm

The Peugeot-Indenor XDP diesel engines were reliable engines,
They were used in Citroën H 1000 - 1600,
Ford Granada & Sierra,
Peugeot 404, 504, 505, J7 & J9 Diésel,
Volga M24D and the M24D Break estate car,
Mahindra Jeeps,
and Leyland Daf 400 vans.

They came in three sizes:
4-cylinder Peugeot XDP 4.88 (1,948 cc),
4-cylinder Peugeot XDP 4.90 (2,112 cc), and
6-cylinder Peugeot XDP 6.90 (3,168 cc).

Where is the Error.

Where is the Error in the Data

1) No where have I mentioned MM540XDP

2) Before the XDP4.9 was introduced on the MM540DP they was fitted on CJ500DP & CJ500DP-101 1981-83

3) With reference to the XDP4.9 the Torque and BHP specs are being quoted from the Original French Peugeot & M&M Engine Service Manual
for the XDP4.9 and the XD3P

4) With reference to XDP Series of Engines

XDP4.88 - 1948cc
XDP4.9 - 2112cc
XD2P - 2304cc
