Let us consider each of your requirements one by one and eliminate cars from the segment accordingly:

1. Budget: Many hatchbacks, sub 4 metre compact SUVs and base models of Compact SUVs and sedans are available

2. Safety Rating: At least 4 stars, this narrows down the options to cars from Tata, Mahindra, Renault, Honda, Skoda, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Dzire and Citroen Basalt

3. Mileage: Most cars can satisfy this criteria apart from a few turbo petrol models

4. After Sales and Reliability: Tata is notorious for poor after sales and reliability isn't up to Japanese standards, Mahindra isn't great in these aspects either, Renault is somewhat fine, Maruti cars generally have good reliability and after sales are great as well, so too are Hyundai and Kia, Citroen isn't known for after sales due to small network, reliability is still a question owing to it being a newer brand in the market, Honda cars are known for their reliability and after sales are good too, Skoda and VW generally have quite expensive maintenance and reliability is fine if you don't go for their DSG units. So overall Maruti, Honda, Kia and Hyundai are the best in this aspect.

5. Future Proof: Most models today provide the most requisite features, and getting a mid-to-top trim would ensure your car remains future-proof.

6. Space: most cars have good boot space, but the XUV 3XO has the least with just 295 litres (as per ISO V211) which is what most manufacturers use to calculate boot space, but Mahindra mentions it as per ISO V215, so it is 364 litres. Regarding interior space, most cars in the premium hatchback segment, sedans and SUV segment offer good space at the rear apart from perhaps the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.

So ideally none of your preferences, i.e. Syros (no safety rating), XUV 3XO (low boot space), i20 (3-star safety), Venue (space at the rear for 3) can meet all your requirements. You have to attach priorities to each of your requirements and choose a car which meets most of your essential requirements.

Completely Agreed. No one car can fit it all the criteria listed. It all boils down to the priorities. I had prepared a matrix based on my priorities and given a weightage for each of them as per my preference. In that 3XO and Syros were the top 2 (Assuming Syros get 3 star rating). I have attached it here. The choice of i20 and Venue were purely based on the experience I had so far with Hyundai.

That's quite an exhaustive comparison you have done there, in my opinion, the XUV 3XO should be the best bet, you could consider the diesel too for better mileage, Hyundai i20 is a good car too with space, practicality and features, although without ADAS.

Can I know why you have rated drive performance of the Brezza so low and which features it is missing that you are after?
