So if I buy a 2008 Gypsy it will be a MG413W and it will have the MFPi engine, right?

That is correct, Colonel Sir!
It has the same engine as the latest Esteem 1.3L(which has been discontinued lately).

Thanks once again, Major, for the info. And, thanks for the promotion. It's only Lt. Colonel. I could orienteer with the best of them, hump the hills and put ordinance on target under fire but I never could get that fine gloss on my boots. Therefore, never made full. I blame it all on faulty boot polish.

I am wondering what you would have to do to tweak another 1 or 2 KPLs out of a Gypsy. Free flow exhaust, KN filter......what else?

I have done that sir, Initially my 97 MG413w gave me 6 kpl. Changed the Air intake, carb, headers and FFE and now I get 10 or 11 notmaly and 13 with a light foot!

Bought a 2008 White color Gypsy King yesterday. It has about 1820 on the clock and is MH registered. Cost me 5.05.
Mods Planned:
1) Power Steering ( Any idea on costing for this)
2) Superking Airconditioner.
3) Exhaust System
4) Broader Rims and Tyres
5) Recaro Seats
6) R.P.M Meter
7) Xenons
8) Basic I.C.E( Need suggestions here as only want speakers up front with decent Bass)
9) K&N Air Filter

Congrats on your new Gypsy.

following tips for you:

1. PS is a waste and a no no..will make it vague!! so pls avoid
2. Superking is good..go for it
3. Possible
4. Go for Alloys and 265/70 R15 if possible
5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are all possible..would appreciate pictures of your new vehicle

Happy Gypsying!!

Cos Gypsy is a light vehicle and a PS will not give you any feedback required especially in "off road" situations

On the road too, at high speeds, there seems no connection with the steering and the road, hence PS is a No no on the Gypsy

Do the later Gypsies have 4 + reverse or 5+ reverse transmissions?

Are they available on order or have they been discontinued?

Later Gypsies have 5+ reverse.
There is no option of 4+ reverse even on order from the company.

Gurkha should be in my hands on April 10th. They need to take it to Trivandrum fist for RTO approval since it is the first vehicle in Kerala. I hate the fact that my *New* car will have over 2000 kms on the odo when i get it. Drive from Indore to Trivandrum !!. I asked them if they could send it by Truck and I would gladly pay for the cost of trucking it to kerala but they said they couldn't due to some union issues.

Anyways, I am looking forward to getting it.
