Certainly Ben. Even me waiting to compare both the vehicles.
In the meanwhile, can someone tell me where the PDI checlklist is on TBHP? I probably didn't search well enough.

If he has the budget the Innova is superb but it is expensive.

The Xylo is surely an Innova beater when it comes to cost vs benefit. - If budget is a consideration then the Xylo is a clear winner.

Innova scores basically because its fit, finish etc are Toyota standard.
Xylo at the same time, is a very good first time effort by Mahindra.

Xylo though good suffers from the basic laws of physics... its too tall and too narrow and couple that with soft suspension, the dynamics arent even close to what Innova offers.
As far as covering the basics is concerned, the Xylo ticks all the right boxes - its reasonably powerful, A/C is a chiller, Space is good and so is the ride quality at low to medium speeds.

Blindly go for Innova.Xylo is not as reliable as Innova apart from price factor.

My vote is for Innova on its reliability, fit and finish, Toyota service (I used Qualis for about 3+years), resale value etc etc even though it comes with a higher price tag.

another reason I don't like Xylo is for its rear shape

No sir, i dont get it. thanks for your "much needed" improvisation on my english!

coming back to the topic, i know what ram meant & i think he will understand what i meant. thats what matters.

still, i would clear it up-
ram, any experience on xylo's "comparitive" not-so-good-as-innova reliability?
is this ok ET?

How did you arrive at this conclusion?

I would love to know as I had contemplated between buying and Innova and a Xylo and finally ended up getting the Xylo.

Would like to know if I missed out something or perhaps your view.

i would like to state some facts here as i feel the xylo is the most underrated MUV around. many negative comments about the xylo are floating around in this forum, some from users who have never sat in a xylo!

before that, a disclaimer:
1) i own a innova & i love it.
2) i hate the xylo FOR ITS LOOKS & will never consider buying it, just because of the looks.

Facts:
1) the xylo is as spacious as the innova, the 3rd of xylo is more spacious than the 3rd row of innova.
2) engine of xylo is more refined than innova, believe it or not!
3) driveability of xylo is better than innova.
4) feature wise, the innova is spartan compared to the loaded xylo.
5) pricing of the xylo is spot on making it fantastic value for money.
6) paint quality & toughness of xylo is better than innova.
7) FE of xylo is more than innova.

so where does the innova score?
1) interior design & quality of innova is leagues ahead.
2) brand image of toyota is much better than innova.
3) ride quality of innova is better than xylo.
4) innova offers airbags (if you have the budget to buy the top end variant) which the xylo does not.
5) A.S.S of toyota, though expensive, is much much better than mahindra.

Agreed

I dont know what si your defination of refinement?
3) driveability of xylo is better than innova.
Disagree, Innova is the most driveable MUV around and I have driven both, Innova extensively.
4) feature wise, the innova is spartan compared to the loaded xylo.
Price for price it is although some of these so called features arent implemented well. Anyone tried the height adjustment on the driver seat. ( A hint: It isnt hydraulic and its either too high or far too low)
5) pricing of the xylo is spot on making it fantastic value for money.
Agreed but the dynamics are flawed.
6) paint quality & toughness of xylo is better than innova.
Toughness.. How? What constitutes Xylo's tougher build compared to Innova?
7) FE of xylo is more than innova.
No idea on this one.
My replies in bold.
For Innova you havent factored in way better dynamics (handling and stability) and that alone would take a lot of developmental effort if we factor in the cost.
