Sen >> You are seriously in high spirits. I have never seen anyone take car delivery like that. Wish you a long lasting grin and miles of joy.

Puja

We got up early in the morning for the Puja.
Actually I got up about four times in the night and was disappointed that it was still not 6 AM.

Took a bath and got down.

Took the car our to the temple. The temple was just two minutes walk from our complex, so I drove myself. It felt very stiff and heavy, especially the clutch. But I took it in right spirit understanding that macho things are bound to be stiff and heavy.

After the puja, I felt so confident that I drove about 12 Kilometers and dropped my wife to office. Man... did I feel "Top of the World"!

Tyre Change from Stock to Michelin LTX

I have decided to upgrade (not upsize) the tyres based on the advice I received on this forum regarding 4x4 capabilities of Bridgestone Dueller H/T.

I have upgraded to Michelin LTX 235/70 R16 (stock size) and have retained the original alloys.

I also bought a Hydraulic jack. This is foot operated and I found that it was much easier to raise this heavy vehicle using this kind of jack than the stock one.

The financials are as following - (also posted earlier)

Stock tyres exchange value - Rs. 5000/- per piece
Michelin LTX - Rs. 6575/- per piece
Net - Rs. 1575/- per piece

Total for tyres - Rs. 7875
Hydraulic Jack - Rs. 1450/-

Total - Rs. 9325/-
Discount - Rs. 25/-

Net Payment - Rs. 9300/-

Free goodies -

1. Rubber floor mats (for front and middle rows) - Rs. 250/-
2. Nitrogen Filling (with 6 months free top up) - Rs. 250/-
3. Wheel alignment and balancing - (IMHO there was no need for this for a brand new car so did not ask actual price)

Dealer Details -
Tyrex (Chintan Thakkar - 9870123123)
Near Jain Mandir, Nahur Road, Mulund West.

The work took about one and half hour. The power went out in the middle and I got worried because it normally is about 1.5 - 2 hours outage in this area during mornings. However, being the election day power came back within 10 minutes.

What I was really surprised about was the level of equipment they had. They had different machines for removing and fitting the tyres on the rim. Also they had some electrically operated hydraullic jack and of course the nitrogen machine. Gone are the days of hammering the tyre out of the rim.

Snaps -

1. Reached at the dealer's place -

2. Tyres stacked up and kept rady for me -

3. Work in Progress -

4. Machine for fitting tyres on the alloys -

5. Wheel balancing machine (this thing has a computer attached) -

6. Tyres ready to be fixed -

7. Nitrogen vending machine -

8. Tyre foam sprayed on. This thing is like snow. After spraying it melts and drips out automatically and gives a very cool shiny look to the tyres. Will buy a bottle of this later. -

Congrats, that color looks amazing, very well suited for beast.

I am not really surprised about your preps and initial bubbles for the car. I think most of us went through the same feeling. Its just that you are vocal about it.

I remember when I bought my Indica, I used to peep through the window at night to give a look at the car, at the middle of the night.

Enjoy the beast and have fun. Post your initial experience.

Congrats sen what a celebration,

On the Tyre front buy a 12 V Tyre inflator it is more useful then a jack.
If the tubeless gets punctured it takes days before it becomes flat you can always top up the pressure and return to some puncture repair shop.

Also buy a surv tubeless repair kit in case you are interested in DIY.

Regards

Congrats Sen! that is one heck of a celebration.

I love the part about getting up in the middle of the night to realize it is not time yet. Feels like the anxious kid who cant get enough of the new toy.

Happy wheeling man! enjoy!

Looks like you got the Michellin LTX AT2 as opposed to the Michellin LTX AT. I prefer the tread pattern of the AT since it seems to me more off-road biased and the AT2 seem to have a more highway bias.

This is the earlier AT model.

Lovely Car , Amazing Celebration snaps. Very happy for you.

Just cant understand, you said mountain green , while your beast looks stunningly handsome - is this the same color ? Doesnt look green to me.

Also, go on some long drive and post a travelogue. Should be fun reading given your style of putting your feelings down so accurately.
