Team-BHP - Mountain Green Tata Safari VX 4x4 Booked. EDIT : Now driving it!

There are two major differences here -

1. Indicators on the ORVM. I am totally sure they were not there on older models. I checked that out with the Test Drive Vehicle (2007) and a Brand New one (at the showroom - EX).
If more info is needed, please post your queries here. These days (till delivery), my sales guy is the most cordial person on earth to me.:D

2. Badge location and Design - Before there used to be a One Line Badge stating "2.2 VTT DiCOR" right under the thrid row window. In this car they have shifted it to where the erstwhile turn indicator used to be and made it a two line thing. I think this goes well with the 4x4 sticker on the door right next to it. Totally a matter of personal taste though. :)

I am not sure if this has changed on the other variants also. Will check up if anyone is interested.

Take care of the outside rear view mirrors. They seem to jut out more than the previous one's.

Indicators on ORVM's are new. It is also there on the DX version. The one below yours. This really looks cool. What would it cost to change mine into this new OVRM?

That's not DX and it is GX,

This ORVM with indicator was introduced with GX version.

Coming to the existing one, you can add up the indicators but it is time consuming and does not look like a factory fitted. It might cost you somewhere around 5,000 per side when i had checked in the market.

There is one variety already available at your friendly neighbourhood accessories dealer - fits over the existing ORVMs. But in our kind of traffic, this would be the first casualty - courtesy bikers & scooterists at traffic lights.

Yes, unfortunately this is bound to happen! Ending up with the vehicle owners driving with folded RVM's!

And God, this is really going to be the target of the off-the-moment thieves! We have had even ordinary RVM's stolen from Safari, now with indicators, it is going to be even more tempting!

Many thanks for the photos, keenly watching the development buddy :-)
If I buy, this is the colour I have in mind, lets see!
I shall wait for more photos though, and you could email me them also at shamtanu_b@yahoo.com Hope you get the delivery soon, and may God save the beast from these petty thieves.

By the way, I was surprised that bikers can do any harm to ORVMs, in safari they are at a good height, still?

Congrats. Nice to see the green civic kiiler:D

And you are all over Safari threads at TBHP.

Welcome to the club !

He is enjoyimg every moment of his ownership of The King - Tata Safari.agree:

Started to reclaim his life from the day he decided to go for it.

Since the day I booked my Safari (Actually since long long before), I just want to think and talk about the Safari. Since a few days after the booking (this too actually long long before) my family got absolutely fed up with me. Folks switch on the TV as soon as they hear my footsteps. :D

What other place do I got other than Team-Bhp?

In fact I took half day off from work today. Absolutely not feeling like bothering about petty things there. :I Rule:

I must not get carried away too much and quit next Monday morning.
Control, control... yourself!

Maybe that's why the Safari.

Wow great pre-delivery emotional account out here. Like the way you made your presence felt during PDI, that in turn among all things make the service fellows take you as a customer much more seriously.

Congrats for the ultimate Safari variant.

Sen,

Can feel the excitement in your posts! It is truly a wonderful feeling! :)

And where are the remaining 43 photos???

Bring 'em on!

Congrats Sen.
Nice color. Will look better with lots of mud on it. :D
Hope to see your Safari in more natural habitat.
Cheers,
J
