+1 to Innova, if he is looking to buy one right away.
If he can wait, there is supposedly a new Toyota MPV coming in. (What is the budget btw?)

If strictly from the above two choices, the Scorpio it is.
Like many have said, Tavera is old now and does not have a 'personal car' appeal at all. More like a tourist vehicle only nowadays.
The scorp and innova atleast feel personal, and ride better too.

5 comfortable seats plus driver, the Xylo or the Innova though he has not listed any of these. The Tavera is not only old and outdated but also, like others have mentioned, has a wierd middle seat. In case of budget constraints, there are many good used Innovas in the market. Just my 25 naya paisa to it.

Innova is the best bet for chauffeur driven car then comes the Scorpio & rest.
A strict no to Tavera, please keep away from it.

You must be joking. Mid row seating comfort would go in this order.

1) Safari Dicor
2) Toyota Innova
3) Xylo
4) Scorpio

Yeah, dev even my +10 naya paisa to what you said

Its always better to TD the range of available vehicles in the market than zeroing in on a couple. Don't forget to sit in the mid seat to analyse, if you are getting it chauffeur driven.

Based on my experience the last time I sat in the middle row (Captains seat) in a Tavera, I would say a strict "No-no" to the Tavera

Agree with this 100% - the E8 version with all the bells & whistles.

Ok, so it seems the general consensus is against Tavera. The best option as mentioned would be to ask him to test drive alll the possiblities. But he is in a hurry and will be booking within next week. He gave me these two options and unlike a bhpian I forgot to ask him any questions to understand which would suit him better . I have to make amends as soon as possible.. lol. Thanks guys for all the inputs.

I dunno Pavan, but off late, I have seen quite a few BHPians praise the All New Scorpio's middle row pretty honestly....
Recline angle change??Better thigh supports??Proper contours??

I dunno but I guess something has been done somewhere.....Need to check...

If found true, it could probably be a DIY for the others as well...

Tavera is a piece of junk. The ride quality is atrocious because it runs on leaf springs. Avoid at all costs.

The full option Xylo E8 costs around 8.80 On road. I am not sure about the price for Tavera.

The Xylo is more spacious than any of the vehicles mentioned in this thread.

Nothing is done on the mid-row seats on the new Scorpio yet buddy, its just the same and better material used, thats it.

You better get your facts right before saying this buddy.

1) Safari - Nothing can beat this vehicle in mid-row comfort
2) Scorpio - Has more space than the Xylo, but a bit lower as compared to the Safari
3) Xylo - have been in this car, Seating position is a bit high and thats it, comfort levels not tested on bad roads yet.

Officer,

I own a Xylo and have driven and been driven in all the mentioned vehicles. Ingress and Egress might be a tad difficult on the Xylo and that's about it. In terms of overall seating - READ ALL ROWS, the Xylo wins hands down.

Why dont you compare the third row seating between a Safari and a Xylo?

FYI, the point in discussion here is space. This is not limited to seats alone. Head space, thigh support and lot of other factors need to be considered too.

No I am not. I always thought that Safari is more comfortable but the TD last week of both the vehicles was an eye opener on that aspect.

Are you sure about that? Are you saying that having experienced the seat comfort of latest scorpio refresh and the one prior to that? May be some of the scorpio owners who have experience with both can comment. I think they have changed the contour of seats in the new refreshed scorpio that gives a lot of thigh support, more than safari.

Let him go for the Scorpio instead.

If in case he needs 5 people to be Comfortable. Safari DiCOR suits the requirement.

Pavan Sir, no one is comparing apples and oranges here.

I was just getting my facts straight and enlightening you on the space factor. Of all the vehicles as listed by you the Xylo is the one that is max on space. And I still stick by the same.
IMO,
Scorpio- best looker of the lot.
Xylo-VFM and spacious.
Tavera- most fuel effecient amongst the lot
Safari- capable ofroader
