Re: Do I really need the THAR? EDIT: Booked Getaway!

Congrats, MileCruncher.

I can now see 2 things happening:

- Everytime you go through a toll gate, they will try to levy you the LCV toll charges (they stopped me when I was driving the Gypsy (pick-up type), and apart from some verbal duels, I also showed them the RC book where it was classified as a non-commercial vehicle, before they relented

- In Bhutan, they will love you, the Ministry of Agriculture has the Getaway in its fleet and it is the most common vehicle even in the deepest interiors of Bhutan.

So now the wait begins for delivery. When is the new toy expected in your hands? And what about the XXXX+1 car?

First, congrats on the purchase. Just wanted to point out that there would be no NCB for a new vehicle. NCB is applicable to vehicle which have not claimed insurance in the previous year.

Regarding nego, IMO, getting a music system for free is not a good idea coz they may plonk any old system in the car. I think you can try and negotiate for free Insurance from the dealer, coz they get it at much lower costs and it would be of value for both i.e. dealer and you.
Else, take quotes online and from new compaines, they give more discounts.

NCB can be availed against a new vehicle. If you have NCB accumulated on your previous vehicle and if you sell that vehicle before purchasing your new vehicle, the NCB gets applied to the new vehicle.

@MC, congratulations on your new vehicle. Is this the first Getaway 4x4 on the forum? Will eagerly await your ownership report on the vehicle.

I'll know the exact delivery date in a week's time. Expected to be 5-6 weeks at the very least. The +1 was supposed to be Nano. As I have over run my budget, the Nano will have to wait for 2-3 months.

Thanks.

I'll be transferring the NCB from an existing vehicle.

Wishing you 39 more days of eager expectation and hope within the gestation period, before the delivery happens. Maybe you can already start shopping for the new baby.

Congratulations in advance! One more round of congratulations to go when the delivery happens!

Ani Bhai, Congrats! on booking the Getaway. This was really fast as I guess it was only last week that we were discussing on the ergonomics of the new Scorpio's.

I am sure you would enjoy the new beast to the fullest.

Re: Do I really need the THAR? EDIT: Booked Getaway!

Congratulations mate...

Saw one gentleman use a getaway in one of the MGEs with his family nicely tucked in snuggly in whatever luxury the pickup offers... He was cruising through the obstacles with relative ease and the longer wheelbase didnt seem to bother him too much. Good buy...enjoy the below video:

Six weeks, six thousand kms!!!

Re: Do I really need the THAR? EDIT: Booked Getaway!

Pardon my ignorance but how does the Getaway look nowaday? Does it have the new Scorpio face or the old Scorpio one? Rest all, it is one hell of a machine.

"' saar open vehicle not allowed. elephant problem. Saar twenty rupees saar"...

Congratulations on making a decision and getting on with life

Re: Do I really need the THAR? EDIT: Booked Getaway!

Congrats Milecruncher for your decision to getaway from work in your " Getaway" not that you needed a vehicle to do that

I admire your courage to choose vehicles that very few can dare to

Happy Milecrunching!!!
