BTW, what was the mielage you were geting with that mini AT?

'coz even that does matter for me..i cant use a car just to move from one diesel bunk to next!!
It was a 600/660 cc petrol engine and not a diesel. I dont think it came in a diesel but i could be mistaken on that one. Once he drove from to Bombay to Chennai in the car. He claimed it gave him 19 on the highway drive with an automatic transmission. I would have expected more but then it is a mini suv and one tents to get a kick from stepping on the gas in such a peppy vehicle.

It seems nobody knows the availability of Pajero mini in India. If yes I will go for one.It will be ideal for two to travel around the country. Most of the of our SUV's in India are meant for six to eight passangers.

@siddvi:

Friend, this is not the mini pajero. This is the Short Wheelbase Version of the Pajero 2.8. The mini pajero is a different animal.

Pajero LWB, SWB are so much available in the UK used car market and it is very cheap. In India Second hand vehicles are so expensive in the market.
Personally I quite like Pajero SWB but not available in India.

The same reason I prefer to go for a Compact SUV. But in India there is no such model. I think SKODA Yetti is coming soon. But again its from house of SKODA which put a big question mark.

It was discontinued after Hyundai turned out their own SUV Tucson & Santa Fe.

I had both, LWB & Seater Manual and SWB Automatic. The Engine was 3.0 Lit. Petrol on both. Stock tyres were 235/70 x15, but with 275/70 x16 on SWB, it floated over sand dunes. I had to discard it because of Smoking Engine at 150,000 km. (Third of my 4x4 to become Martyr) None to blame except myself. Sand enters the engine and scrapes the Cylinder.
