It was a warm breezy Friday morning, I was on my throne when the BB started flashing it's tranquil yet irritating red flashes. It was a PM from none other than @Guderian himself. Containing Top Secret Mission details for the Sunday the 22nd of May. The coded message requested Pune Wingmen (@dot @noopster & @mdsaab) to be present for a reconnaissance mission. The reporting time at undisclosed location H~E was 8:45 am Sharp. All confirmed through coded wireless communication devices we were all set for this mission.
Saturday night was one where probably none of the mission pilots had much sleep. Laying down in bed tossing and turning wondering what tomorrow had in store. Hardly getting much sleep myself, I was up by 5:00 am on D Day. Laying around watching the seconds tick by i finally could take it no more and out of bed i was by 6:00 am
Uniform laid out the previous night i was ready in a few minutes. not wanting to disturb @dot so early in the morning i some how managed to let some time pass, and finally called him up at 7:00 am. and true enough @dot told me he hardly slept too, i informed him that i had already fired up the engine and was on my way to his house which is close by so that we can drive up to undisclosed location H~E together.
Arriving at @dot's Society the first thing i noticed was a lovely LTD sticker. It was pasted on a well maintained sea green Safari.
Which belongs to @JealousDiamond
Followed by a very familiar sight.
@dot's Scorponok
As soon as @dot came down he wanted to fire up Scorponok and get me to check out the noise from the engine. Thought quite muted there was some sound which was bugging @dot to no end. We even popped the Hoods of both Scorponok and Chicca parked almost side by side to compare the sound live. Chicca too had a faint sound, and i tried my best to get @dot to let is slide. But he still wasn't convinced Infact as i write this @dot was at Honda ASC getting the issue sorted as well as Scorponok's first major service ~ Wishing him good luck with that.
So after a engine checkup we started off towards undisclosed location H~E. I followed @dot through some unfamiliar terrain keeping Scorponok and Chicca in stealth mode avoiding all major roads until absolutely necessary.
Arriving at temp base OCCD to shake off any tails that maybe following. A coded wireless radio call to @Noopster informing him that it is safe to arrive at temp base before scheduled time to ensure no sabotage of mission operations would take place. meanwhile another @dot made another wireless radio call to check location of @Guderian and proximity to location H~E. While @Noopster was on the move another wireless coded call took place changing arrival location to confirmed location H~E.
Finally after a few minutes Scorp and Chicca were parked at H~E. a couple of minutes later Fraulein made her appearance and parked in front of the respective Civics.
Ofcourse @noopster has checked out a civic before but we couldn't resist checking out each others rides. Fraulein is magnificent. Beautifully crafted and the AT shift selector is butter smooth. and worth mentioning here is the ease with which @noopster just snaps that front logo on and off.
Within a few minutes and bang on time the mighty Admiral made it's way down the slope and parked right up in front. This was the first time meeting up with @Guderian. Exchanging a few words we decided to carry on to temp base now known as CCD. Parked at our respective docks we anchored down and headed inside to enjoy a few rounds of coffee and banter.
The respective soldier's machines assembled at CCD
~ A few Statistics of this meet ~
There were 3 AT's and 1 Manual
3 Petrol's and 1 Diesel
3 Sedans and 1 SUV
But 4 Beautifully maintained exteriors.
The insides well that's another story, we shall tell a bit later.
Poor @dot has been worried about the engine noise for quite a few days and even got the engine expert of the lot @Guderian to check it out.
A few pics of the engines now
Scorponok's engine is pretty clean, even after that Goa Roadtrip.
The Admiral ~ I am lost for words. Probably cleaner than when even new. must say the way @Guderian spends hours on the Admiral each Sunday is commendable. and it truly shows. one word PRISTINE!
Fraulein needed a cleaning and @Noopster was quick to respond. As soon as he got home from this mission he had another mission planned and that was to give Fraulein some much needed TLC. Check out the results on Frauleins thread. Spectacular!
and Chicca, last but not the least. I am really sorry baby. We shall fix up that TLC date real soon. Just a word here. This is what happens after doing a 3M motor care treatment. The engine bay looks spectacular after the job is done. But a couple of weeks later which included a Goa Road trip and you can clearly see the orangish mud that Goa is so famous for in the engine bay.
~The Cleanliness Results~
There was just no competing with the Admiral here.
1. Admiral
2. Scorponok
3. Fraulein
4. Chicca
After a couple of them cuppas and some cookies, @guderian got a coded call and it was time for him to set off on his secret mission after his hideout in our cover. Sensing it was the right time all respective engines were fired in sequence and we headed off to drop Admiral off in the safety of the Scorpio Batallion which will escort The Admiral all the way to location L.
Stopping at wayside DA we had completed our mission of safely escorting The Admiral. and we once again assembled for a few quick memorable snaps.
@Noopster checking where the Admiral was left behind.
@Noopster and @dot waiting patiently for the Admiral and @guderian to arrive at wayside DA
BUTT it's a good angle
hey @mdsaab don't get too close to my wifey Fraulein.
After ruining our escorting reputation The Admiral finally drives up to wayside DA.
@Guderian not too happy with me too close to The Admiral. Coming back to check on me.
So i quickly shuffle to the other side.
You will never get TIRED shooting these beauties.
Quite a mighty lineup.
It's not always easy to get a good shot. Notice how that motorcycle ruins an otherwise perfect shot.
Third time lucky, i finally get it right.
Bums away! There's a lot of BHP in this lineup. Not only within the engines but within the soldiers themselves. A total of 536 BHP present in this lineup.
Some weird and quirky shots.
Speaking about horse power we had 8178 but all running on fuel. Whereas here we had raw horse power.
And as all good things come to and end. We had to hit the brakes on this one.
Coming up though...... is a very special shootout..... so stay tuned.
Drive Safe!
