Today we had a very short notice Team-BHP meet at Udupi because I wanted to talk cars on my Birthday night.

The meet was attended by a Techie (Samurai), Pediatric Surgeon (Deep Blue), Maruti workshop head, Ophthalmologist (slicvic), Business man (Sashas), and a Dentist (Manipal). A neurosurgeon (docanurag) and a psychiatrist (carfreak) dropped out.

Talk about diversity among Udupi car nuts.

Today morning after reading the newspaper I realised that we were breaking the law by having this meet. The district authorities had imposed section 144 in Udupi and Manipal, barring assembly of 4 or more people until today morning. And we were six!

I am available only until Friday, after that back in Bangalore. I can make it for dinner or lunch till I am here.

Let me add (posted on the new thread) docanurag is now with Fortis Vasant Kunj as a consultant in Neurosurgery. Earlier he was Associate Consultant at Fortis, Gurgaon for well over a year.

So he has left Manipal area, but he is a Manipalite at heart, his wife is a native, and their son was born there.

We had a very good meet today. It started with a calm lunch at Sharada International at 2PM. After paying the bill by 3PM, we sat around and talked until 4PM. But the day was still young, and Udupi meets have the tendency to go bit wild... previously it was offroading, what is it this time?

Five of the Eight vehicles were 4x4.

After the customary group shot, we left for the beach. Not the Goa kind, but the cleaner and deserted kind, and where a river meets the Arabian sea.
