But seriously, i think it will be easier to decide on a convenient location once all those who are interested speak up and mention where they will be coming from.

So far, based on your and my confirmation, Hooters@Manchester, CT would be the first choice venue. I think it would suit aah78 too.

How about having the North American meet on this July 12th near the Casinos in CT (either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun)?

It is about two hours tops for the folks coming from NYC/NJ or Boston.

There is also sailfest happening that weekend in New London with tall ships and fireworks etc.

Re: East Coast US Meet

No issues.
Just wanted to give you all a heads up that there is a nice race track called Limerock Park in CT. Their website is http://www.limerock.com/
I am unsure about regular entry cost - either free or a very negligible fee during certain events, but if you wanna test out your car etc. it is fun and not that expensive
For example, check the link below:

Re: East Coast US Meet

How about meeting up in NJ before summer is over and doing the following????

For either 125 USD or $149 take a 3-lap drive behind the wheel of a Lamborghini or Ferrari on a closed course for upcoming event dates in CT or New Jersey (depends on which of the link below you prefer)

http://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals...ine-Lifestyles

Or

http://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals...ham-Dream-Cars

Any takers????

P.S: The above is a pretty hyped up event and quite expensive to just drive in a parking lot, but then again it is a chance to get behind the wheels of either a Ferrari F430 or Lamborghini Gallardo and also have the very first North American meet of 2014

My parents are heading back to India on 23rd evening. Might be able to make it to somewhere on 24th if enough interest is shown by other. I am not really keen on doing the hill climb though, having done it 3-4 times already.

By the way, this is another video of climb to Mt Washington in a Subaru WRX STI. I think this holds the record for the fastest climb. Skip to 4:00 to see the real fun

Unfortunately even I can't make it on that particular weekend since it is my kiddo's birthday and am having guests come from far and wide to celebrate.

Subject: If You Have a Cool Car, You Can Parade-Lap It Sept. 20

Do you know about Lime Rock Car Corrals?
Lime Rock is offering three hot Car Corrals for Trans Am Race Day, Saturday, Sept. 20.

All three Corrals get a minimum of two Parade Laps.
Car Corrals are cool... each one has dozens of stock, modified or simply super-neat cars displayed in their own Special Infield area, showing off terrific hardware.

The three Corrals are:

American Muscle: You know who we’re talking about, all you Mopar, GM, Ford and AMC owners. Hey, this is what Trans Am is all about!

European Performance: That means you owners of Audis and BMWs and VWs and Mercedes and Minis and Loti and Porsches, and even Ferrari, Lambo, Jag and Abarth owners. If it’s Euro and it’s hot, we’re cool with it!

Asian Performance: We don’t care if your lowered-and-turbo’d Honda, Nissan/Datsun, Mazda, Toyota, Kia, Subaru, Hyundai or Suzuki was actually made in the U.S., Canada or Mexico: If it’s an Asian marque, you need to be here!

(Shhh, don’t tell the boss, Skip Barber: Sometimes we get more spectators cruising the Car Corrals than we have fans walking the Paddock!)

We keep the Car Corral Passes cheap: $15, on top of your Track Admission ticket. (Veterans and active military, your Track Admission – but not Corral – is free.)

You buy the Car Corral Passes online; click here.

Remember: This Friday at midnight is the deadline to get Admission tickets online at the lower Advance Price – just $20.

If you can’t come :( , pass this email along to your buds. Thanks!

Re: East Coast US Meet

Hey all, sorry for going off-topic but I thought this would be a good thread to get some fair inputs. PM me if you guys think its not the right place.

After being in NJ for a while there is a better offer for me which needs me to move to Denver, CO. I am pretty excited with the move and think it would be a nice place to work and explore. Is it worth taking it?

I am currently staying with my family (wife+kindergarten kid) and both are very comfortable with the community here in NJ and have a good social life. I know Denver is not so diverse but are there any communities there which would have some (if not many) Indian families to socialize, primarily for my wife who stays at home and not very fluent with English (Hindi/Punjabi primary)?

Thanks!

No, nothing scheduled yet, not until we defrost a bit.

But it's been too long, I'm thinking of planning something for spring, maybe a Saturday drive.
