Guys, just so that you are aware, Ch'lore weather might not be as pleasant as we think - especially the day time temps are quite high lately. I've got my mom's family based in Ch'lore and so got this news.

I'm ok with any place and looking forward more to meeting people.

Just another thought - have we given beach side places a thought? Typically, the East coast will be quite pleasant now and will be great for family and all others alike. Also, nearby coastal places are not that far to drive.

We can go to beach, but none of the beach will be less than 350 km I guess, and beach will also be hot in that time. If you think you can get a good deal in a beach resort, please let us know.

A beach destination will mean a ~400km drive, to either of the coasts (Pondicherry side or Mangalore side), which will take around 7-8 hours to reach. I am not sure if that would be convenient if we are looking at a saturday morning - to - sunday night kind of trip. We would be spending 16 hours just on the journey and almost nothing at the actual destination. My opinion is that it will become a bit rushed with a 1N/2D itinerary. A beach destination needs minimum 2N/3D to avoid getting exhausted. Just a thought, no offense meant

+1 to that, we should keep the driving part between 3-4 hrs one side.

Hi guys, hope all of you had a good Republic day break, now its time for some action -
The Meet Date is 18th & 19th Feb
We need to confirm the location -

• Chikmagalur
• MasinaGudi
• Shakleshpur

these 3 are the most favoured choices so need to zero down to one now.

I have checked for 2 resorts in Chikmagalur, their price varies from 1650 to 1950 per head, including food and accomodation and some other free activities. Both resorts can accomodate upto 80 head count.

My personal choice is Chikmagalur.

Some points I learned from previous meet -

All resorts book on advance payment basis on minimum guaranteed headcount, so those who say yes and pay in advance, should remember that in case of last minute cancellation, the money is not refunded from the resort side. So be sure and then only pay.

The final list posted, have BHPians from 11/12 Feb group as well as 18/19 Feb group, so those who are going on 18-19Feb, please send me PM, please include your mail id & contact no. We need to finalize the destination by Sunday and confirm the resort(what ever place it may be) max by 31st Jan.

Hi Avijit,

Did you check with Eagle Eye Resort in Chikamangalur. Had been there 3 yrs back and is awesome.

They have villas ( that time under construction) for people to want Luxury stay, Huge room ( can accomodate 6-8 or more ) for bachelors, good cottages for that hilly billy feeling and Tree house (Single - 1 couple and Double - 2 Couples) .

They also take you for boating or picnic near the river Rs.300/head + visit to caves or waterfall ( don't recall, it's on their website)

1. Stay in cottage was Rs. 1800 for a couple including all meals (Veg Only - good food)

2. Villa ( With Swimming pool & Glass Balcony at top most point of hill) Rs. 3500 for couple with all meals

3. Tree House (Single) - Rs. 1650 for couple with all meals

Person to contact Moni (Owner) or Lakshmi (his Wife). They gave 10% discount on bargaining.

@Asdon - Here's an interesting place at Masinagudi called Blue valley jungle resorts, 240km from Bangalore -

I'm not sure how good a place this is, just stumbled on this when browsing the net. What interested me was that tariff page - they claim to offer students' packages for school kids - which means they must be able to accomodate our numbers of 80+. They were not reachable on the landline numbers mentioned on the site. I'll try calling them again later in the day and update this thread with more details. The tariff per pax (2250 per head all inclusive) also seems pretty similar to the slabs you quoted for the chikmagalur resorts. Might be good to bargain for more group discounts
