Many times I observed that he had carried his kid in 1 hand and D-SLR in another hand and still covered all the events of the meet, definitely not an easy task. Thanks a lot @Schoudhury, on behalf of all the BHPians! ![]() After this photoshoot completed, we had a group photo session in the badminton court by 10.45am, pictures of which are in Schoudhury's post on page 3 - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/team-b...ml#post2687394 We then proceeded to remove the cars one by one and departed from Eagle eye resort. The offroading route followed on the exit section, and then there were the bad roads and finally the mind-blowing roads through Bhadra forest where all the drivers had a blast till we reached the main Aldur-Balehonnur highway at around 12 noon. More on the proceedings in my next post. To be continued... Last edited by KarthikK : 23rd February 2012 at 07:54. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Aditya Sir, You can have all the adulation that the world can give. Remember that means lesser people scrambling upto my bike...guess you got to know what am hinting at. On the Contrary, your bike does have a better street presence than mine because of the color. GREEEEEEEN Quote:
Bingo, the convoy's hi-speeds were in the economy zone for me, not complaining at all. There have been trips where the mileage has dropped to less than 15 with liberal use of right hand ![]() | |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() My trip meter read 668kms and I filled 20+18.8= 38.8liters of petrol thats an average of around 17.11kmpl, this includes 99% AC while driving back and around 95% AC while driving to the destination, plus the frequent 2nd-3rd gear session on the twisties. I couldnt have asked for more from my car. All of this from an engine that didnt have a coolant reservoir!! Nice!! @Mahesh sir, @Aditya.. Have convinced my wife to let me have a 600. Soon, I would be joining the gang! Cheers Shrey Note from Team-BHP Support: Speed info edited out as it could give an impression of irresponsible/careless driving on public roads. Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Continuing from where I left off... The convoy reached Aldur town at around 12 noon and 2-3 gas guzzling monsters (including mine) had to tank-up. Shrey's OHC VTEC, my T-Jet and someone else's car got the fuel filled up while the rest of the cars waited. Soon we departed towards Chikmagalur. I was behind the brilliantly driven Verna of Sajands/Condor throughout this time. The convoy stopped at a huge IOC bunk before Chikmagalur where the rest of the convoy refuelled, and then proceeded to stop for lunch by 1.30pm at a restaurant called Soundarya Sagar, if I remember correctly. The families and couples went to a separate section, while we stags sat along with bikers in another section of the restaurant. Post lunch, the group split up. Asdon, guyfrmblr, ssjr0498, Schoudhury and myself wanted to try the freshly laid roads of Chikmagalur - Sakkarepatna - Kadur - Arsikere - Tiptur - Tumkur - Bangalore route. Shamanth stayed back in Hassan on personal work, and the others wanted to stick to the tried and tested Chikmagalur - Belur - Hassan - Bangalore route. I must add to the other group's envy by saying this - the Kadur route was smply mind blowing. You guys missed it. I don't remember a single pothole on that route except for a 1km stretch near Tiptur ![]() The route taken by the 'explorers' - Asdon, the Jet, ssjr0498, guyfrmblr and Schoudhury ![]() The 'tried and tested' route taken by the rest of the convoy ![]() After entering NH206 around 2pm, somewhere near Arsikere Asdon signalled to us and pulled over for a photoshoot of our 5 mean machines. Here are some of the photos of the photoshoot. My camera settings were improper and I hadn't noticed that - my bad. Sorry for the below-par image quality on these ones. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After the photoshoot, we proceeded along the way, and ended up losing asdon somewhere near Tiptur. ssjr0498 askd me to lead the way since I had the MMI GPS navigator and had the bypass and exit routes on all the towns we encountered. The remaining 4 cars cruised at decent speeds and munched up miles quickly. We stopped for a break in the hot afternoon by 3.30pm, and continued the journey homeward. After entering Tumkur road and passing through the umpteen toll gates, we lost guyfrmblr somewhere near NICE road entrance. ssjr0498, Schoudhury and I stopped for a short break after entering NICE road and chatted for a while before we split up and continued homewards. Schoudhury took the NICE exit towards Electronic city, but ssjr0498 was with me throughout and bid the final goodbye when he turned at the Shell petrol bunk on Bannerghatta road. I reached home by 8pm. The fantastic BHP mega meet had come to an end so quickly, wish it could have been longer. It was a weekend well spent and the whole event was organized to perfection by asdon. The bikers were brilliant, the cars were amazing and the high point of the meet was getting to know the faces behind the handles that we see posting stuff here day after day on team-bhp. We should definitely plan up these meets more often than once a year. With that my chronological T-log ends here. It can't complete without the customary 'thank you's. - Thanks to asdon for organzing everything from start to finish. - Thanks for the awesome meet guys, and for participating and making it a huge success. Hopefully the next one will come sooner than expected. Over to asdon for that - Thanks also for the comments on this thread, glad to know you guys didn't find the long T-log / Photologue boring ![]() - Hope the non-attendees this time make it to the next meet. I can't wait for the next one to happen. P.S - will shortly be uploading a few more random snaps that are leftover in the camera's memory card Last edited by KarthikK : 24th February 2012 at 08:27. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() A 5 star thanks to karthik for the detail and fantastic logs and pictures. Thanks to S Choudhury,Avinash, Condor, Chetan & Royal Cruiser(forgive me if I miss any name who has done a snap upload) for those great uploads. Sajan has just started and I know theres more to come as condor had the advantage to getting behind the cam, as Sajan managed the curves. And Thanks to the biker boyz for making the event so special, funny initially we started discussion to keep the convoy upto 80-90kmph to make room for the bikes, ![]() I know this is bit early, but here's at teaser..... next Meet location, a beach, 520km from Bangalore, as good as a private beach, resort on the beach, not much explored.... a two night event to give us more time to chit-chat, explore the surroundings more, rest more and no more off-roading with hatch & sedans, more 4 lane driving, now question is Guess the location!!! Guys, sorry for being little OT, please continue your posts with snaps and write-ups. Last edited by asdon : 24th February 2012 at 09:29. |
