Monsoon at Arabian Sea - Team BHP Bangalore Meet

Do you want to get wet at an Arabian Sea Beach???

Thats what some of the BHPians planned when there was a meet at Chikmagalur in Feb,12. Now its time to realize the plan, monsoon has arrived and there is an extended weekend comming up 18-20 August. How about a drive to the beaches of Ankola, spend 2 nights & 2 days, come back by Monday evening?

There is time to plan for it, hope there will be lot of participations as past, put in your ideas and lets have one of the biggest Bangalore Section meet this August.

Saw asdon's sms and logged in to the section now to view this thread. My participation is confirmed as of now. The Jet needs another flight anyway. I only hope the monsoons don't play spoilsport there. The last I heard, most of the west coast is getting battered by rain throughout the day, everyday this monsoon.

Would have loved to meet after a drive through Shiradi.
But I'll be driving on top of the world at that time!!!
Enjoy.

Is Ankola fixed? Can we have other destination options like Kannur which are relatively nearer to Bangalore. As per Google Maps, Ankola is 500+ Kms, whereas Kannur and other Arabian Sea places are <350 Kms. With these gas prices, every km saved, is km earned :-)

@Hyper-VTEC, it is not about the distance, but ASDon has found a lovely place there for a meet. But more importantly, this being a long weekend, it is easier for people to have more time to go that far. Closer destinations can be done on regular weekends also.

Re: Monsoon at Arabian Sea - Team BHP Bangalore Meet

what is this 2 days, 2 nights funda? Does this mean Saturday morning departure from here and Monday morning departure from there? It should be 2 nights, 3 days then. I was thinking asdon will suggest 2 days, 2 nights, then leave from there at midnight and do a midnight drive back to bangalore. Knowing asdon's adventurous ways, he might suggest even that .

@asdon - also try to include a stop at your favourite Jog falls if possible, either while going or while coming back. It will be flowing in all its glory now with the monsoon refill. Ideally, shouldn't take much time since it is on the same highway on NH-206.

@hemanth.anand - are you heading to Ladakh with the Abarth punto?

Get into mind reading , the 3rd day was a secret, on way back we can make a pit stop at Jog.

It is not about the distance, but the price/time one has to pay to get there. Anyway there was no mention of Asdon's find of a specific place in earlier posts. He mentioned if the beach of Ankola would be a good idea, not that the destination was already decided.

My Abarth was in all readiness and two of us had planned everything based on that.
But two more people joined us and my friend just bought a Safari.
My abarth will now be cozy at home.
However if two more people join us (actually one: one is already ready), Abarth will follow the safari.

Yes, thats true, destination is not finalised, but probable one is Honey Beach. The places you mentioned in your earlier posted are also great places, but this time we wanted some 4 lane driving too, as last couple of meets has been through single lanes only... and in recent times there was no 3 day/2 night team bhp meet organised, so if its at a distance that idea becomes reality, but nothing is final as of now if you have better ideas please share the plan
