I called them and they said they have an AC section and the hotel is located on NH8 immediately after the new Mira road flyover on the RHS if you are coming the Dahisar check naka. (which seems like a convenient location)

As it appears they cannot organize a buffet for us but as per his rough estimate the per head bill would be in the range of Rs 500 even if we order a la carte

Yes the same place and i guess Rs 500 to Rs 800 a head for A la carte is ok. We can also pre fix the dishes and ask for a better rate from them.

If we are looking at places not too far from Bombay, why not look at options on the Ghodbunder Road in Thane. There are lots of places there.

Ok so now we have one strong option to consider. Also he said Rs 500 is good enough.

Looking at the current status of the poll it looks like 28th is the favorite(14th has passed anyways). I think we should close the poll latest by 18th.

Yes even this can be considered. I remember going for a thane meet to one of the restraunts there, sorry i dont remember the name.

We will surly be going for a drive prior to the lunch, lets just finalize on the date and venue for the lunch (Since some members would prefer only lunch) and then we can accordingly plan the drive.

Not unless you want to have a 'dinner' meet. Chokhi Dhani opens at 5pm and closes by 11pm.

This weekend I am out, and next weekend I am tentative. So I shall be able to confirm only at the very last moment if I can make it on 28th.

Let me also re-propose one of my earlier ideas: At the meet, every member should speak for about two minutes on who he is: Name, occupation and some general information about him/herself such as hobbies and topics of interest etc. This will help break the ice and will also help people like me to remember names along with faces.

This would require two things: All TBHP members must be available at a common space, so the speakers can address the whole assembly together. Secondly any late comers should first introduce themselves - which is only possible if all the members are available at one location.

Alternatively we can fix up a specific timing when members will introduce themselves. So if the meet is going to be from 11am to 3pm, let's fix up 12pm to 1pm as the time when everyone will be available for the intro sessions. This will ensure maximum number of members can get themselves acquainted with each other better.

I second your idea of a quick introduction by members. It not only helps breaking ice but also allows the group to come together as one rather than forming several small groups and interacting amongst themselves.

Guess pre-lunch or during lunch should be a good time.
