After checking out most of the SUVs, we wanted to experience the Rexton as well. We went to the Mahindra stall and were surprised to see XUV missing from the display (There was a Quanto).


Me and Aman volunteered to seat in the 3rd row of the Rexton. The 3rd row of the Rexton is a joke. Its a lousy seat placed directly on the floor: super-cramped and uncomfortable.




We checked out the side-facing 3rd row seats of the Quanto and those were infinitely more realistic than the Rexton.



While we decided to check out the bikes section, Raghav went back to click a few more snaps of the Lambos.

As the camera was with Raghav, there are no pics from the bikes section and I would request Esmail to pitch in.

We did stop at the SCC stall and had a discussion if the brick-red Lambo was a custom-paint job or a wrap. Turned out it was a wrap.

We moved to DAD a little bit ahead. By that time Raghav joined back. Aman managed to get him and me inside and we got a chance to pose with the chrome wrapped Lambo and the Evoque.











We did check out a few more stalls.

While I was admiring it, the owner of the stall invited me inside to have a closer look.


The bike clearly had a Samurai theme and amazingly detailed paint-job.

Excellent pics Esmail! The Rexton Bharo aandolan was indeed lot of fun.

Do you have any pics from the Duke and Hyosung stalls? The RC8 looked nice. By any chance did you click any snaps at the Harley stall?
How about the R1 and Repsol that were lined up along with a few other equally tempting beauties?

It was already beyond 1pm (our originally planned exit-time). We rehydrated ourselves at the food stall and were wondering whether we should call it a day. I was interested in a quick peek at the Mahindra Adventure off-roading track which was just outside the food-stalls area.

It was not easy stepping out from the chiller AC to the hot scorching sun, but was totally worth it with the Mahindra Adventure vehicles doing round of the track and demonstrating off-road capabilities.


















Finally at 1:20PM we started back.


In a event like this, its not too difficult to spot multiple tbhp stickered cars. We spotted 2 while exiting.




I was riding with Rohit in his Duster and just when we thought that the fun for the day is over, we spotted this 2-door beauty.








Pretty uneventful drive back to Mulund in the scorching heat. We were so engrossed in chatting that I forgot that I had parked my car at Airoli intersection . The kind-hearted Rohit took a U-turn and dropped me at the Airoli intersection.

2:00pm -> Waved off Rohit.

A Sunday well spent. Drove along with SuperBee in his FFE swift from Thane till Candies and was fun watching some of the reactions to the 'Roar'. Candies started on a disastrous note and personally I was feeling bad as I had suggested the place. Maybe i should have called and checked whether they are ready for a big group at 9:00 AM, nevertheless lesson learnt for future.

However, things took a delicious turn as soon as the Candies Van arrived and from thereon it was the quality of food which took over the discussion (with some not so kind references to their service, which definitely needs improvement).

As far as the APS was concerned, I had not attended any such show before so getting to see so many beauties (Non living one's ) was a salivating experience.

For me the highlight were the Bikes by Transfigure, Brilliant Imagination, creativity and execution. Of course the Lambo twins take some time getting out of the head too.

@SDP - Thanks for the pics and the crisp narrative. Every time I read your reports I ask you this question, When is the Book coming? The simile between the smiling Donut and the food situation was Ernest Hemingwayesque

Hello All,

It was really a great Breakfast meet & the food at Candies was definitely worth the wait. The Lemon Grass Cooler was really refreshing & thanks Rohit for getting all the orders done.

But the real fun was at Autocar Performance Show. Just the initial stalls featuring Lambos, RR's, Mini's, BMW's were absolute nirvana for any automobile enthusiast. The rest of the stalls really did not hold much interest, but we as a group of petrolheads explored interiors of all the cars on display. It will be worth mentioning that the new i10 Grand looks real good car from inside & outside. At the sametime it was indeed funny to see the useless third seat row in Rexton. Much to our surprise the two jumper seats in Quanto's boot were comfortable even when two 5'10" inchers area seated opposite each other.

For me watching all the bikes on the display was ultimate satisfaction with a thought in back of my mind to go on a long trip on one of these bikes on foreign roads.

Thank you for the pictures SDP & Esmail. Only thing you missed is clicking a picture of my bike.

The day being a Sunday, I preferred to ride my bike & boy it was sheer pleasure to cruise my Pulsar 180 on practically empty WEH. Though the afternoon heat was really harsh but it was indeed an achievement (on WEH) to reach Kandivali from BKC in 30 minutes flat.

Looking forward a day trip to Bordi Beach soon, preferable with our families.

Enjoyed the Sunday a lot! It was fun going to such an event with like minded people. Conducting a seating capacity test of so many vehicles was fun indeed and gave out some interesting results (one of them being Quanto is more spacious than the Rexton for the 3rd row passengers )

Yes, that Indica Vista is my ride. I reached around 12 accompanied by my wife and 1 year old daughter and was looking for you guys, based on all the meet pics. But alas, guess you guys were already reached end of the tunnel on other side
