re: Fortnightly mini-meet : Mumbai BHPians

Updating the thread-

There will be a mini meet as usual today, 11th July and everyone will gather at the regular meet spot around 6.30 / 7.00 pm.

In-case the rain gods decide to be generous enough and its not possible to meet, we shall update the thread.

Thanks,
Yogesh.

Guys, kindly update if the meet is happening.
Have to think of a viable excuse and inform the concerned to escape office

Cheers,
Vinay

Even if people manage to meet, I think we'll have a thin attendance owing to rains. Mostly people working in powai may be able to make it. But it seems tough looking at the rains.

Cheers,
Yogesh.

I have been trying to attend the meet ever since, but not been able to for some or the other reason.

Will definitely be there today, in fact left already for Powai. Hoping to meet all.

Cheers,
Vinay.

i am in Mumbai for a week.

Any chance of me attending any meets here?
What's the date promulgated for the next meet?
What's the location?

Hey Dhanush,

The next mini-meet is on 08.08.2014, i.e., this Friday. The location would be the usual spot. Outside Hiranandani school in Powai.

Here's a map for your reference. Map courtesy: SDP

Hope to see you there

P.S. In case rain gods are generous enough and it is raining heavily, the meet might be cancelled. In that case, an update shall be posted here.

Cheers

Thanks almansanc.
What time is the meet?

I stay in Colaba. As I am new to the place, could you please give me directions to reach that place?
I mean, which local train to take, from which station, which station to get down; and further how to reach the place from the station.

regards

Take a train from CST (Slow Train) and get down at Kanjurmarg. Take a rick till Powai. That would be the easiest for you only if you are ok travelling like animals stuffed together as that would be peak evening time when people return home.

Else just book a cab.

Meet usually starts around 6:30-7 and goes on till about 8:30-9. But sometimes there is a dinner plan as well.

Colaba is technically one corner of the city. Powai is pretty far away.

Anyways, here's the ideal route you should take:

1) Reach Mumbai CST station.

2) Take a SLOW local going towards Vikhroli/Kanjurmarg. Most of the trains on the central line will pass through Vikhroli/Kanjurmarg. Download an app called m-indicator for train timings and other details. The travel time would be around 40 mins. And the train would be extremely crowded! Take only a SLOW train.

3) Take a rickshaw/taxi from Vikhroli (W)/Kanjurmarg (W). And ask him to take you to Hiranandani, Powai. In case you are using navigation on your phone, type in Hiranandani Foundation School, Powai. You would get the exact spot.

The easiest way would be to book a cab and reach the place comfortably. Should take about an hour and a half to reach if the traffic is bad.

P.S. PM me your number and i will send you mine so that its easy for you to coordinate.

Cheers

Where exactly in Colaba? I'm not sure if I'd be joining in but if I do, I'll try to meet you there.

Thanks everyone for that detailed reply.
I will definitely turn up unless my office keeps me engaged beyond normal hours.

I stay near the Colaba defence station. Would be happy to hitch a ride with you Turbo_Torq

Hitch a ride?? Lol

I have no ride of my own mate. We'll have to use public transportation in the event I do join you from that side.

Even if I don't and you are skeptical about taking the train, you can take the bus.

There was a dinner plan today? Damn. I thought there wouldn't be one owing to the rains and stuff.

Sigh! Next time then.
