Thanks to all my buddies for making this trip eventful and memorable. Wifey will never forget this Anniversary, unique it was for her.

Kiddos had a fun filled time too. We should make this recurring event every 6 months or so.


Revintup - Choice of the location was awesome. I literally got surprised to see the waterfall infront of me while opening the balcony door in the morn.

It was a fantastic meet to say the least.
Though we did not see any new faces, the experience of a drive and quality time spent together carried a lot of weight.

First things first. All credits to rajoy123 for coming up with an ingenious idea of buying a few walkie talkies for the drive.
He floated the idea on the whatsapp group and by the end of day, he had already purchased two pairs. One pair for future drives and one for himself (Probably to converse with his wife when she is in kitchen and him playing Xbox in his room ).



Though initially it was for boyish enthusiasm, these proved to be of great help for communication within the convoy.
I was staunchly against this from the beginning. I vehemently opposed this being a distraction on the road. But as it turned out, I had to gulp down my words when these were put to real use.
Rajoy even claims that mine was the voice which was heard the most over the set. That’s utter non sense...

The convoy picked up strength in bits and pieces as we were all scattered around the city. I met up with rajoy123 near the BOT bridge and so the convoy started as two cars.
The next meeting place was the open space in front of Choice School, where we were joined by figo_mba on his red Figo and naveen.raju with vaisakhr on the former’s white Ecosport.
Deetjohn met us there to wave good bye with a promise to meet us the next day. He did keep his promise when he along with Speed.Demon and Revintup joined us on Sunday at the resort.

Atop topstation









In the bone chilling cold at Topstation, we sipped on hot masala tea and gulped down the yummy Maggi. The small tea shop and his urn on the cliff





Highlight of the return drive: Fog!!





Driving as a convoy in fog was quite an experience.
The walkie talklie was put to optimum use during this phase.

Day 2

When we retired to bed the previous night, we could hear the rumble of a stream nearby. As it was pitch dark by the time we reached the resort, we were not aware of the proximity of a waterfall.
When I lazily gathered myself out of the bed to the balcony of my cottage, I was pleasantly greeted by this wonderful view



Naveen.raju, jacs and vaisakhr were already down on the pavement sipping on hot coffee.

Speed.Demon' expression in the first group shot is very amusing. We got a taste of the Motorolas on the way back and they are awesome fun! Great idea rajoy123!

And what a place it was. Superb recommendation revintup! And we owe you a big one for the yummy appam/ parotta and chicken curry on the way back.

Guys, not a single pic of the Speed.Demon' Waggie? I think he was washing the car late on Sat night to bring that extra shine on the tyres. Speed.Demon, even Kungipalu got featured in one pic.

Edit: The post wouldn't be complete without a thank you note to revintup for the very warm welcome at his home and for Speed.Demon' for hosting us on his car on Sunday. And jacs, your Fusion looks great!

Having trekked back to the resort, it was time to explore another fall nearby. This time though, the only female quotient was my daughter.
A dip in the stream was quite relishing.



Deetjohn was acting as a chieftain of the tribes with a wooden baton to show his authority



And as my son soon found out, the water was chilling too..



However, he soon set forth to his next rock climbing expedition





All thanks to revintup for suggesting this place and for the initial co-ordination in striking a good bargain for the stay.



Had a great time. Enjoyed each and every moment of it.
One which we would all cherish for a lifetime.
Looking forward to more drives of the like.

Regarding walkie talkies, are they legally permitted on public places? I ask this because we had to inform officials while we used the same at Mysore for a program.
